Best truck I ever owned By
Review: I have owned many vehicles in my life. I was a die hard GM person till I experienced my Lightning I prefer to drive it more than any thing out there. Have traveled coast to coast twice on vacation. Can't say enough good about it.

Ford's Performance Pick-up By Indiana_Jones
Review: The most performance made pickup ever made is an extreme pleasure to own and drive. The engineering is outstanding, all the way from the engine, transmission, drive train & suspension. What a thrill to drive. Gauranted to raise your heart rate when you stomp down on the gas. Blow away Corvetts and Mustangs off the line.
Favorite Features: Euro style tail lights, Ground effects
body side mouldings. Sued And Leather
seats.

Stupid Fast By NFLEagles1
Review: I have about 3000 miles on my new Lightning now. Before it, I owned a 2001 4X4 Extended cab. After test driving a used Lightning with no intention to buy, I had to have one. Sometimes I'll just test drive cars I hear about to see what I think. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong vehicle to just "test drive." Two weeks later I traded in the old 4X4 Extended cab for my Lighting. Performance is unbelievable. A truck should not be doing this. At night I drive around looking for a street race. By day I tow around my ATV. I gave up 4X4 (for snow) and Extended Cab space for this, and I don't regret my decision at all!
Favorite Features: Supercharger whine, Power, stock Looks.
Suggested Improvements: 6 CD In dash (coming for 2003 models),
kick panels for front speakers
(available aftermarket), Level it from
the factory. |

Lightning Sort of Fast By SVT 03
Review: I good buy. i got mine for 26,00 bcause i am an engineer in the Special Vehicles Team at Ford and i also have a 2003 svt cobra. When i brought it home for the first time i decided just to go and drive some more i just didnt want to stop so i drove for about 2 hours on the coast.
Favorite Features: engine and exterior styling. i tow my
boat with this truck which is really fun
it really performs well. i actually dont
get that bad of gas milage with it and
a boat. I have a 4500 pound 19 ft
scarab and if i drive it softly i can get
about 15 on highway .
Suggested Improvements: Manual Transmission. Whats wrong
with people today how can you have
380 hp under your foot and not be
allowed to control it yourself and its s
truck. better gas milage better
performance and more fun .
Also, i have never liked cd changers. |

excellent, but needs an updated interior By johican
Review: Ford's Lightning performs better than any truck should and doesn't make you feel guilty about it. It's a blast to drive and equally fun to just admire it's beautiful shape. It's hole in the armour lies in its outdated interior, which hasn't been updated in several years. Ford needs to consider making the dash more friendly while maintaining the intuitive functionality. Basically, the interior works, but isn't fun or very attractive at all (perhaps the gauges are attractive...), which just doesn't jive with the rest of the truck.
Favorite Features: Great power and response that can be
easily, comfortably controlled without
fatiguing the driver.
Suggested Improvements: Revise the interior configuration to
provide a more inviting, engaging dash
and instrument panel. Allow options
such as no rear sliding window. |

Lightnings Rock By TylerS
Review: I love my Lightning. I recommened anybody even vaguely considering one to go out and drive one. There is not another vehicle that is any sort of comparison to the driving fun of this vehicle. I would not trade my truck for anything, except for maybe a Porche or or somthing like that. There is nothing else on the road that does what these do, and there is so much customization that can be done. Ford definitely got this one right.
Favorite Features: The power and performance is the best
thing. It is also a quiet ride from
within, no annoying exhaust noise. You
only hear the sweet whine of the
supercharger.
Suggested Improvements: It should come with 20 inch wheels and
maybe sit a little lower. Heated seats
would be nice too. |

Review: Let me start by telling you of my LOVE for FORDS, I currently own a 1992 Special Edition Red 5.0LX Convertible, and a 1957 Ford Fairlane Clup Victoria Coupe with a brand new crate 428CJ engine, my past Mustangs have included; 1969 Mach 1, 1969 428SCJ Mach 1, and a 1968 390GT Coupe! So I have a DEEP LOVE of big block FE engines! Ok, on with the LIGHTNING REVIEW.....all I can say is I would CRUSH all the other fords if it would get me one more day in the SVT LIGHTNING!!! MAKE NO MISTAKE, this is NOT a TRUCK, this vehicle would make many many other sports, and or muscle cars put their tails between their tail pipes and run for cover!!!
Favorite Features: 380HP, 450 FT POUNDS!!!
ENOUGH SAID!!!
Fit and Finish are BMW QUALITY!!!
Certainly a F150, but NOT in the same
FACTORY!!! If they hand built all
F150's, this is what they would be like
Suggested Improvements: Better Stereo, less plastic, power

SVT fever By John @ HDCafe
Review: I just traded my 02' Firehawk in and bought a black 02' Lightning a few weeks ago. I sure wish I had bought the "L" sooner, this thing is a blast to drive. Here in Texas we have a lot of truck owners, and when they see my shiny L drive by it sure turns heads. There are a lot of performance upgrades available, and it is easy to put the truck in the mid 11 sec 1/4mi times.
Favorite Features: I would have to say the supercharger
whine is a pleasure to my ears. I also
enjoy all of the torque and towing
capacity of the Lightning.
Suggested Improvements: 1) 20" wheels should be standard
2) Hard tonneau option
3) more supercharger boost
4) drop the rear 2" |

Fun Truck By AraS
Review: This truck is outstanding, best in the market. It is fun to drive, it is very comfy inside and it makes you feel like a king. Great handeling, speed and overall performance. Its a must have. For 32 thousand, this car is a steal. I would of paied up to 50 for this truck.

truck, it is just a beauty

Review: A grin everytime you drive it! If you get this truck, spend the extra $600 on a chip and filter. If you decide on a blower pulley (~$200), you'll need a pair of traction bars. ;) For the extra $1,500 (including the traction bars), it's not all that much $, considering you'll smoke a Vette, and have $15k left in your pocket!
Favorite Features: Power and that SuperCharger whine.

A Ford engineer addicted HP! By Mark Wagner
Review: Truck currently runs 13.05@112mph with only a larger crank pulley, Cold air intake, and a Diablo Revolution chip. Better tires will get 12's. Do not believe mid to low 12's with these options. It's only talk. The truck now Dynos at 460hp, and looks great with a dual ram air hood from Cervinis.com
Favorite Features: Supercharger and looks. Clear tail
lights were a good improvement.
Suggested Improvements: Loose the plain F-150 hood. Add a vent
or bulge to set it apart a little.
Needs more power to keep up with Dodge. |

Love My Ride By raiderblack
Review: I have owned my new SVT Lightning for 1 month now, and I can't rave enough about it. IT is with out a doubt fastest funnest vehicle I have ever driven. It has more power than anyone would ever need or want. I am continually stopped to talk about my truck from complete strangers. It's ride is exceptionally smooth and it handles wonderfully for a large truck. What can I say, it's eye catcher when parked and a blur to the regular world when I drive by..
Favorite Features: The sheer speed of this vehicle is
intoxicating, and the sound of the
supercharger kicking in a beautiful
thing!
Suggested Improvements: The only thing it could use is an in
dash changer for it's 6 CD changer. The
position of the current changer behind
the pasenger seat is a little hard to
get to. Other than that I wouldn't
change a thing. It's the perfect
vehicle if you like your trucks fast! |

Lightning Strikes... By Randy Huddleston
Review: The Lightning is a fun vehicle to drive. Powerful, good handling, excellent braking, an overall A+ in performance. The exterior design is set apart from the other F series trucks with ground effects & bumper treatments. The interior is well laid out with gray suede & black leather. When the supercharger spins up, with it's distinctive whine, & you are pushed back into the seat it makes you smile & sometimes even laugh out loud. The Lightning is just plain fun to drive, period. PS: for well under a $1000, you can get an aftermarket chip, pulley & filter combo that will put your HP well over 400, & torque 500+! This will drop your 1/4 mile times into the low-mid 12's. Yee Haa...
Favorite Features: Overall appearance & Supercharger.
Suggested Improvements: Beefed up bottom end using heavier duty
rods. More exterior colors. |

Super Performance and Comfort! By John Campbell
Review: I have been investigating these trucks for over 3 years and the people that I've talked with agree these super trucks are unique and not for the average person. Average as in someone looking for a everyday driver/commuter type vehicle. These trucks don't get great gas milage, but that's the only negative thing about this truck. If you're looking for unreal performance, power, and stylish comfort and don't care about gas milage, do it!
Favorite Features: Horsepower galore! Supercharger/Blower whine is hypnotic. The seats are the most comfy there is. Performs like a Corvette but has more interior room.
Suggested Improvements: More Horsepower and the option of a larger S/C 5.8 liter engine. Chromed rims. Possibly a moon roof option. |

The Perfect Vehicle By Naudtz
Review: There is no vehicle out on the planet that can match performance, safety, and work capacity of a Lightning. Sure, the there are faster cars out there, but lets see a Camaro, Corvette, M3, M5 come out of a racetrack and haul a 5000lb. boat. Good luck.
