Fit and finish is very good, ride is comfortable, however, performance is sorely lacking.
MPG is 15, at best.
The transmission is reluctant to shift into the higher gears -- even letting off the accelerator doesn't encourage a shift change.
The 3.7L engine lacks the oomph to take on inclines without downshifting to 2nd gear.
The rolling resistance seems unusually high as it drives like it is towing or hauling a heavy load.
One would expect mediocre fuel economy to have a trade off in power, or vice-versa, but that's not the case.
Dodge would do well to re-outfit this truck with a better engine and transmission.
As noted previously: Dodge would do well to re-outfit this truck with a better engine and transmission.
While the fit and finish is as good or better than Honda or Toyota, the materials are a but harder surfaced which makes cleaning soooo much easier AND no soft touch surfaces like Honda.Toyota which turn to gun or tear after three years (Have experienced both. The ride is polished and with the 300+ HP V8 this monster accelerates better than anything in class, holds the tow load record at over 7000 pounds and is QUIET!!! The Toyota is much louder at speed. Rolling resistance is minimal.. Cruises at just over 2000 rpm with a transmission liek silk!... and sounds like it is idling at 80m iles an hour and PUNCHES in a pull when you need to pass or climb thhat grade. All this and a 7 second launch makes for easy traffic merging and street lite fun too! AND... averaging 17 mpg+!!(The V8 Mileage beats Honda and Toyota V6 mileage in the real world!!AND as much as 23 mpg to Vegas!!). An AMAZING truck. LOVE the 90 degree opening back doors for easy access and the under seat quicl storage in our crew cab.
Love my 2006 and the 2011 is just that much better. Please keep building these!!
