Hi there, I have a 2005 Turbo with 42k miles. It ws first registered in January 2005 (so I have about five months to decide). I have been quoted $4,000 by my local Porsche dealer for a 2 year/24k miles warranty. Deductible is $250. It covers a lot. Is this good value? Can anyone recommend a good warranty company?\ How sure are you that something will go wrong with your porsche ... Read More
I currently live in Jacksonville, FL and considering purchasing a single-owner 2005 Porsche Cayenne with 47,124 miles on it. I have never owned a Porsche before so I am really looking for insight into the long-term maintenance of a Cayenne and general thoughts on the driving and ownership experiences.
Hi blgreen24.. Welcome to CarSpace.com forums! This discussion is primarily for pricing, related to new Cayennes.. But, we have many Porsche Cayenne discussions, and you can see them all, here. I have owned three Porsches previously, but I have never purchased a Porsche Certified Preowned before. I am looking at a one owner 2005 base Cayenne with 52,000 miles. I inquired about the warranty, and he said I could have the Porsche Certified Preowned warranty for an additional $2,500. This would be for two years or 100,000 total miles whichever comes first. Is it normal for the dealers to offer this ... Read More
Good luck with the Turbo...I almost bought it! I believe it only had 28k miles on it and I'm sure it was well maintained at the dealership. The only drawback is that I've heard from other forums NOT to by any Cayenne except 2005 and newer. This one particular Cayenne may just be an exception. Also, if you're looking for an iPod or Bluetooth connection, talk to Eric Schaeffer in Service ... Read More
If one wants a Cayenne for road racing.... 19 or 20 inch tires are great. For highway or off road... the 18 inch size is more desirable from a ride quality and durability stand point. On my second Cayenne Turbo (2005 from 2004) I immediately put on some Khumo tires which I ran 38,000 miles, yes 38,000, and had about 5/32 left when I took them off because of the noise. ... Frankly, I am surprised to hear the 40k service on a Cayenne is only $1,100 at HBL. I don't own a Cayenne, but the 20k service on my 2005 911S will be in the $750 vicinity and, I believe, the 40k service runs around $1,500 (quoted from Rockville Porsche). I would have thought the Cayenne, with its additional automatic transmission and AWD differential fluids, etc. would have been even higher. Heck, ... Read More
Porsche dealers can vary greatly with respect to their pricing / discounts. When I bought my 911 Cab S in September 2005, all 4 dealers in the DC area offered almost no discounts. It was the new 997 model and even though we were heading into the fall, the Cab version had only been out for 5-6 months. I finally got a PA dealer to agree to a $5k discount on ... Read More
I have a 2005 Cayenne Turbo with 33k miles and about 17 months left on the warranty (50k/4 years). Where would be the best place to buy a 2 year extension. Can you get this from Porsche? I have read their website and there's not a lot of info?? Thanks
most bimmers are redesigned every 7 yrs. porsche's 7 too but they do facelift, hp changes, etc. depends on the model. Cayenne's 4 yrs., Boxster was released on 97 wasn they did changes on hp or headlight lenses, etc. and finally did a redesign on 2005. Same as the Carrera, from 99-01 same body style but changes in hp & some options, 02model year to 04 (996) seems the same as the ... Read More
Hi revets2. Wow, you won't see too many 2005 Porsches out there that are still classified as new vehicles. Porsche Credit doesn't publish a lease program for "new" 2005 models any longer. Perhaps it has some sort of special program that it uses for this sort of situation. If it does, I haven't seen it. You definitely should treat this car as a used vehicle when trying to come up with ... Read More
carman, we are looking at a 2005 Cayenne S with almost 19k mi. and get this...the dealer classifies it as a new car because it was driven by a Porsche exec for demo purposes and has never changed title. any car to me that has 19k mi., pits in the aim dam, scuffs in the back bumper, obvious wear on the metal inner door protectors, and nicks on the console seems ... Not sure where in IL you're from, but I just traded in my '04 545 for an '04 Cayenne S at Napleton Porsche of Westmont on Ogden Ave.. They were great. It was a great buying experience. Smooth with excellent services. I bought it from Pioneer Porsche in San Diego California. It's a fast car. Loving it.
We will be buying our 2006 Cayenne S in San Diego on Thursday afternoon. I don't think both Porsche dealers in San Diego do not have 2005 models left. We will let you know what sort of deals we get. One dealer has couple S with 500 miles with pretty good price on them. Welcome to San Diego.
Hi boys, I am an older female who has driven Porsches since before most of you were born. 1960 saw me in a '58 356A Coupe. My first Cayenne Turbo was 2004, 30,000 miles in 11 months and I wanted the rear view camera and pano roof....so.....BIG HIT on trade. Exact figures were about $30,000 diff. But I got a roof, camera, wooden gearshift and every other option. Maintenance is actually ... Read More

The only answer I got - not from my dealer ... Read More
Is this a leftover new vehicle, or used? If new, you can't beat that price. Bi-xenon's would be nice, but for me personally, the vehicle provides better value the fewer options it has. I see some 6 cylinder Cayennes with all kinds of equipments on it that pushes the sticker to well over $50K. To me, the only must-have option is the 8 cylinder Porsche engine.

Anyone know of any good deals on 2005 Cayenne S Models. And what is a good price to pay? Thanks
Kerk 1, I was just in St Pete's Florida at the Bert Smith Porsche. The dealer was offering $8000-$9000 off the sticker price of a slick Crystal Silver 2005 Turbo Cayenne with powerful 20" Techno Wheels. His Sticker price was $98695.00 (apporx 10% discount) but i'm sure they would take more off because they're being pressured to get the '05 and '06 off the lot. Hope i was of help. Cheers ... Greetings valerie3. Five years is way too long to lease a vehicle for. A lot can happen over the course of five years to make you want to get out of your lease early - and this is usually a very expensive thing to do. For instance, you could get fed up with spending big bucks to feed your Cayenne at the pump. Or your commute could change, causing you to ... Read More

Hi alex15. If you were to lease a 2005 Porsche Cayenne S through Porsche Credit right now for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00270 and 56%, respectively. Hello, I am trying to buy a new 2005 Cay S. I've read the Consumer Reports invoice pricing for the base model, but there are no invoice prices for the options. Boca, Just picked up my Cayenne from the dealer yesterday. The blackout trim looks great, especially on my black exterior. I've sort of avoided the board after some hostile counter-remarks to simple questions...but for those of you interested, I have the final follow-up for my complaints that the tires wore out in front at 10,000 miles (and all at 18,000), there was no spare even though I was shown where it was held, they stole my upgraded tires off my car when it was given to me at delivery time, and ... The fact is that the 2005 cars are sitting at the docks waiting for delivery to dealers. Porsche held those so they can move more 2004 of the lots.
