Re: Made the mistake.... [lr3rx8]

So I say no. Good thing you did (say no), or you'd have a much more serious dilemma. When I drove an RX-8 a few years ago with my niece who was car shopping, we both thought it was pretty soft in handling and performance compared to a Honda S2000, let alone anything by Porsche. I'm not anti Japanese - that S2000 was a legitimate competitor against the Boxster back then, ... Read More...

Article Comments - 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo Follow-Up Test

Re: Porsche 911 Turbo Triptronic is an Auto Box. [astreet]

You made the right decision in going with the 6-speed manual over the Tiptronic. I have a 2007 Turbo 6-speed that I'm going to be selling/trading in a couple of months when my new GT2 arrives. I thought I might have a tough time selling it, given the state of the stock market, but my dealer has lined up two or three prospective buyers, all of whom bought a tiptronic within ... Re: New or Used Porsche??? What to do??? Kids too! [habitat1]

Thanks so much to everyone so far for the advice. I am so torn about the car. I feel like buying the full size Range Rover is so much more logical. On the other hand, I really want to get the Porsche. Ironically, my wife thinks I am being ridiculous. She says just buy the Porsche. The price is an obstacle for me. I buy my cars outright and I have a hard time with going over ... Read More...

Re: ? [habitat1]

you were very off about my age and purchase ability. Im 26 and own a G35 and ford explorer. second the built quality of a 350Z or any other nissan wouldnt be something you could relate to the build quality of the GT-R. as i mention. just like porsche owners. the hype they hear based on an upcoming porsche is based totally off the reviews they read. so what makes it wrong ... Article Comments - 2008 Audi R8 vs. 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

Re: Tough decision [shoes]

Interesting. I had an order placed for the R8 and was next in line for production. I had placed my order early prior to pricing being released. I am in Canada and with the dollar at par I couldnt get past the 27% price differential when the prices were finally released. My R8 would have been $180k out the door incl taxes. Knowing I couldn't go down to the US and buy an R8 ... Read More...

Porsche 911 Lease Questions

Re: A couple Question about Leasing a 911 S [lowbmc]

Hey lowbmc. I see that you provided this car's selling price in your next post. Let's crunch some numbers and see what sort of lease payment we come up with. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2007 Porsche 911 C2 Coupe S that has an MSRP of $97,000 and a selling price of $93,190 through Porsche Credit right now for 60 months with 12,000 miles per year, ... Re: Article Comments - 2009 Nissan GT-R vs. 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo [dogface5]

I am sure Porsche senior management appreciates your concern on their behalf, but I am equally sure they don't share it. In the perenial quest for what car will be the 911 beater, we've had the Corvette, Viper, Acura NSX, AM V8, and a bunch of others try their best over 4+ decades. This year 911 sales will set another record. I too think it's curious that Nissan is apparantly ... Read More...
