your quote: "Oh yeah... as far as getting a 993? Have you seen the asking prices for those? Maybe the greatest 911, ever... but, it's just nuts.. Basically, a collector car, now.. If I get a 996, I could use it as my daily driver.. It's a pretty long model run... is there a year when they get better? (1997-2005). I'm probably not going to end up with the Porsche... too ... The 1995-1998 911's have that 15" passenger side wiper blade which is fine until you try to upgrade to the newer-style, frameless beam blades. 15" beam blades virtually don't exist and 14" are difficult to find. The only option I've found is the 'Trico NeoForm Beam Blade' which comes in 14" (OE are 15" but you won't notice the 1/2" difference on each end). They also have the 18" for the ... Read More

Of course, you will have to shop for the cleanest, lowest mileage car you can find, with excellent service records. Any car you find that is a "mystery" as to who owned it, how it was ... Read More
Bullethead, I am in the same type of pondering! I thought that I will get myself a Targa, as it is not that common as the others, but then started reading about the 911-series, and have found that most Porsche enthusiasts think that the best one to have is a "plain" C2 with no additional stability controls, 4-wheel drives and such. Of course, there is a number of people who would ... Read More
I always liked Porsches and have had great respect for the marque since I was a little kid. I also find that they make some of the best engines ever...the 5-cylinder in my 1993 Volvo 850 was actually designed with Porsche input. However, as I got older and my knowledge about cars in general increased, I found that there are some Porsche models that I find less than desirable today. Here ... Read More
