I have had my Targa for 3 years and it's a pleasure just to take the car out on weekends and explore neat places for the day or overnight. It handles perfectly on the interstate as well as the back country roads. Luggage space is more than enough for the overnighters, so there's no worry about limiting what you want to take due to lack of room. The leg room is fantastic and when the Targa top is down, you feel like a million bucks cruising down the Interstate at 80 (oppps 70). I like the handling at all speeds, especially the way it hugs the road on sharp turns... although high performance tires are a must. Lastly maintenance is minimal but I service the car like clockwork!
The car's silhouette, easy to store conv. roof, basic handling and power. The seats are extremely comfy, along with a basic, simplistic dash.
Bring back the Targa to the 911 series and maybe it will standout again. I have had the opportunity to put a '90 Targa next to '07 911S and granted the '07 is a driving machine... the '90 is a classic head turner and a comment generator. So re-make the Targa style and watch how sales will pick up.
