  • Recall is working

I received a preliminary notice of a recall from Pontiac in September of 2010. I call their headquarters, got a service number and was told that final recall notices would be out in mid February. I have used my Vibe very little to prevent further damage. I received a recall notice today informing me that the parts are now available and I have made an appointment on Friday to get the ... In February 2010 I bought an 05 Pontiac Vibe, FWD, 1.8L, and in the last 4 months it has proven to be a wonderful car & workhorse. It gets 25 mpg around town and 31 mpg on the road. I use my Vibe for work, so the back seats are permanently folded forward and cargo area is always heavily loaded with tools and materials. It is great that the passenger front ... Read More

Pontiac is supposed to have stop the production of all their cars? Last week 1 dealer near my place had no Vibes on his lot and today I saw 23 Vibes there, couldn't believe my eyes and also across town another dealer had 3 Vibes last week and tonight 16 Vibes are parked side by side. These are all 2010's. Is the 2010 Vibe still in production? I was thinking of ... Read More

For your used car: 1. are you looking for good gas mileage since you are only using the car for short trips? 2. are you looking for a standard or automatic? 3. have you totally ruled out AWD? I have both a 2003 AWD and 2009 Vibe. I think AWD is virtually a waste of money. I want to make sure that you know that the 2003-2010 models are all Corolla, ... Read More

My goodness, you are definitely over thinking this one my friend. Think of it this way: the car is 100% Corolla, except for the outer skin. If you get in an accident and need body parts, they will be created for up to 10 years; the rest Toyota has covered. Now for the really good news: GM was stupid enough to come out with a 2010 Vibe model before ditching Pontiac. ... Read More

bluedevils, you can definitely use your $2,000 top-off bonus earnings on a 2009 Pontiac Vibe. I did it on 6/8/09 (post #345). Anyone thinking about purchasing a Vibe should consider that according to this New York Times article: http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/23/gm-to-end-pontiac-vibe-production-in-- august/?nl=wheels&emc=wheelsa1 production of the Vibe will end in August of this year rather than sometime in 2010 as was previously announced. I have not seen any rebates or incentives listed for 2010 ... Read More

good lord no. You can NEVER buy a car thinking you are going to sell it. I don't care what the economy is doing, it is NEVER a good idea to throw away money on the worst "investment" you will ever make. You've done the homework; you know the car is a Corolla. If you don't think you will need it in a few years, I'd seriously rethink the purchase altogether. ... Read More
