I do not recall what first caused me to be interested in the Vibe/Matrix, but when the near by Pontiac dealer had some 2009 AWD models arrive, I decided to check them out. Here in the Rocky Mountains, all wheel drive is a very valuable asset. I compared the Vibe and Matrix AWD "twins", and analyzed the deal available on each in my vicinity. The Vibe simply had the upper hand ... Read More

Hi cdegiorgis. Technically one could lease a 2009 Pontiac Vibe through GMAC right now, but its lease program is terrible. GMAC's base lease rate for the '09 Vibe is 8.5% and it has no residual value support. If I was interested in an '09 Vibe, I would either lease one through an independent bank or just lease an '09 Matrix / Corolla through Toyota Financial Services instead. TFS has a very ... Read More

I test drove a 2009 Pontiac Vibe with 2.4L 1sb engine, 5 speed auto, with preferred package and sun and sound package (along with air and 17" aluminum chrome clad wheels). The dealer experience was great; a lot better than the Mazda dealer. Sheeze, you think I was trying to steal their baby or something. The dealer offered a little less than $300 over invoice for it. I read with interest the post #58 from vibeowner1. I too, have purchased a red hot metallic Vibe GT from my dealer in Amherst, New York. My wife and I drove it from Tonawanda, New York to Durham, North Carolina to visit her son, drove it around town, and drove back a week later. I'm "standing on the brink" of trading into a 2009 AWD Vibe. I hope to trade in my 04 Jeep GC and keep the spread as low as possible. I drove the FWD GT model at one dealership, but they had no AWD models available. The other Pontiac dealer has several AWDs, so I am considering starting negotiations. Using Edmunds pricing and reviews has been more than helpful in this endeavor, ... Read More

Marina Pontiac in San Leandro. Ask for Luis. Tell him Jeff (red Vibe GT) sent you and you would like to get his price! :) Yeah the 18" tires are on the noisy side, however they really give the car a much sportier look (and handling). The price you pay for vanity I guess. ragu123 the price was before any kind of rebates/incentives. I made sure to negotiate pre-rebate/incentive price because ... Read More

Would like a more fuel efficient unit though. I guess if I can get a 175,000 out of this car there will be different types of fuels and engines when I trade. My local dealership does ... Read More

Aaron Gold of About.com's guide to cars said, in regards to Navi: 'Between the Vibe and the Matrix, I'd take the Vibe for its longer warranty and better looks. The Matrix offers an optional GPS navigation system that the Vibe doesn't get, but that wouldn't be enough to sway me.' I don't know if this arrangement is likely to change for Pontiac's ... Yes, the 2009 Pontiac Vibe is a wagon. Like the first-generation Vibe, the new one is a mechanical twin to the Toyota Matrix, itself a variant of the Toyota Corolla. The Vibe's upright nature provides five-passenger accommodations, plenty of cargo volume and a more commanding view of the road than a compact car. The tall wagon formula works. Why mess with it?
