I have a 2005 vibe and the both the tail lights and front running lights were not working. (Brake lights work) Took it to a reputable electrical automotive engineer. Turns out that the headlight relay switch located under the steering columng is the culprit. Nobody has the part of course - had to be special ordered - cost 100 bucks - labor 120 to replace it. Good luck.
I have same problem and couldn't find what causing this. I have good fuse, new brake light switch, all good light bulbs. I tried emergency parking brake trick too but it's not working. could you please tell me what was the problem? thanks.
I've got a 2007 Pontiac Vibe with brake lights that won't work. I've checked the fuse, the bulbs and the brake pedal switch... all are fine. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?
what a rip off. are there any honest car manufacturers anymore. $105 for the front license plate bracket.
Check my earlier post. My 2007 Vibe at 15,000 miles would barely start and would die when put in gear. My wife had difficulty driving home the night before. I called Pontiac who arranged towing to the nearby dealership. They quickly diagnosed it as a faulty AC Delco computer command control unit. They replaced it that day. The car has run fine since. This expensive computer controls just about everything when ... Read More
My experience was similar to what you described. It was the power control module - the $575 computer that governs the engine functions and the transmission action. Check my post under hardcharger_43. Please post you results.
My 2007 Pontiac Vibe does the downshift action from 4th to 3rd when going down a steep hill after tapping the brakes lightly. It is peculiar but I have adjusted. It has 14,200 miles. The other problems described have escaped my attention.
I own an 07 Vibe with 28,000 km. Recently, the check engine light came on, so I took it to a local mechanic. They said they scanned it and didn't find anything, and by then the light was off, so it was probably just the gas cap. Two days ago the light came on again, and this time I noticed a bit of a jerk when shifting from drive to park ... Read More
My 2007 Pontiac Vibe with 12, 800 miles ran poorly last night before refusing to start. It was towed to the dealer who diagnosed the problem as a defective "power train control module." This AC Delco part will be replaced under warranty. However, the three year warranty ends in a few months. The part itself costs about $600. Is this a common ailment with Vibes? Will the Toyota Matrix version fit? ... Read More
I got a 2007 with 5000 miles for $12,500. It does not have keyless entry, power windows, but it does have a moonroof. I am really happy with this car. I imagine that Pontiacs should get cheaper, what with the brand disappearing.
Ours is a 2005 and it's 44psi. All are different. Ours is a manual. They don't make them after 2007. We also have BFG tires. I don't like them, they keep going flat. This has been the only car I've had that picks up things or the tires loose air pressure. We talked to a tire guy and he made the suggestion 205 R 60's instead of 205 R55's. They would ... Read More
We are looong time owners of various models of Toyotas. Knowing that the Matrix is a Toyota mechanically, we decided that if we were going to buy used, why not buy a Vibe instead of a Matrix. Here in southern California, the Matrix commands a much higher resale price than the Vibe, simply beacuse the Vibe is badged as a Pontiac. The values between the cars are very different, so much ... Would my 2007 Pontiac Vibe pass California inspection including emission test?
You did the math right. It was $1000 for the trade, $2000 in rebates and another $1000 discount (plus the $3500 GM card rebate). I was told I couldn't get abs after the fact. I searched the Pontiac website for 2007's and almost all of them seemed to be either an odd combination of options or not many options. When I found one with so much of what I was looking ... new 2007 pontiac vibe, abyss (slate interior), preferred pckge, sun and sound pckge, ABS, auto trans. my deal(in New Jersey): 16,500 (1,500 cash allowance plus $500 for a previous non GM car, $2000 for my 2000 Toyota Corolla trade in (still owed $1,410, talked them up to $2000, so really $590 towards my car), no down payment. total to finance $17, 601. wasn't crazy about my finance rate (even though my ... I am looking for a 2007 Pontiac Vibe (at the lower end of the price range, with minimum options). At this point I have a $1,000 rebate from my GM card, but that expires on September 4th. In your experience, how much do cars like the Vibe drop in price once the 2008 models are on the sales floor? From what dealers have told me, the new models should be in ... Read More
Hi Gang, The Toyota website has the new 2008 Matrix up for viewing. And the big surprise is that it is identical to the 2007 Matrix! I have no doubt that Pontiac will follow soon. Does anyone have a contact at the NUMMI plant who can confirm? Looks like the big decision this fall will be a new 2008 Vibe or 2008 Saturn Astra. Hmmmmmm...
I just traded my 2003 Vibe for a 2007. The 2003 had a couple of minor irritations, but obviously nothing to keep me from buying another one. Those irritations have all been addressed in the 2007. The only thing I would change in the 2007 is to go back to the double layer center console storage box that my 2003 had.
I just picked up a base 2007 Vibe for my dad. 5 Spd manual trans, pretty basic. Sticker $17,215. Paid $13,515 plus ttl. $15,010 out the door. That included $1,000 GM Card rebate. Puente Hills Pontiac/Buick/GMC.
You can find the GM cash rebate (as well as dealer inventory) on GMBUYPOWER.com. The GM cash rebate could be different in each geographic region. Cash rebate means you are going to pay for the car entirely (i.e. not financing through GMAC). If you don't have that kind of cash but want to get the cash rebate, you could secure the loan through your bank/credit union and use that loan to ... Read More
I bought a 2003 Matrix when that were first produced. The matrix in the same configuration as the Mazda 5 (at that time - 2003) was $1000 more expensive than the Matrix. I tried to get a Vibe since I wanted roof racks but the Pontiac dealer did not reply to my email. After three accidents, none of which were my fault and all paid for by insurance and repaired at ... I think the 2007 online stickers are a mistake and I have notified the Pontiac web site people via an online feedback form. C'mon, Pontiac, if you want to sell cars you gotta pay attention! As to real world mpg, I have a 2006 base Vibe with auto transmission (the way probably 95+% of 2007 models will be equipped). I have never gotten less than 25 mpg around town. At 65-75 ... Read More
Hi, I am choosing between these three cars, and am quite confused. I am told by both the pontiac and toyota dealer that the 2006 vibe was built by TOYOTA. However, when I look at the crash ratings posted in Edmunds, they show different crash ratings. I am quoted 36 city and 38 highway by both the dealers and my girlfriend who has the automatic transmission 2005 with 6 cd player. ... Read More
the sticker for the 2007 Pontiac Vibe shows mpg as city 17 and highway 25. The 2006 is shown much higher, anyone know what that is about. Is the 2007 really giving lower mpg?
Here's the text of a "Press Release" I found somewhere else: "Pontiac will discontinue the GT and all-wheel-drive versions of the Vibe wagon after the 2006 model year due to sluggish sales of those models and changes in U.S. emissions standards that would have made them costly to redesign. Pontiac will continue to offer the base-model Vibe for the 2007 model year. It may bring back the GT and awd versions ... Read More
"If GM had any brains, there would not be any Saturn or Pontiac for 2007. But they don't; so there will. I see no reason to buy the Vibe if neither the GT nor AWD models are not offered, unless they put independent suspension in the only version remaining. Still, it is a car which does not stand out in a crowd, so why bother at all" -Maxx Is it just ... Read More
