Pontiac Vibe 2009+

Re: milage [litespeed4]

I have a 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT. In April, two days after I purchased it, I drove to Durham, NC and back to Buffalo, NY and averaged 29.97 miles to the gallon. Last week I drove to Baltimore, MD and back to Buffalo, NY and averaged 31.20 miles to the gallon. Most of both trips were on the highway, although I did drive in the cities as well. My previous vehicle was a 2005 Vibe ... Read More...

My 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT

I read with interest the post #58 from vibeowner1. I too, have purchased a red hot metallic Vibe GT from my dealer in Amherst, New York. My wife and I drove it from Tonawanda, New York to Durham, North Carolina to visit her son, drove it around town, and drove back a week later. We averaged 30 miles a gallon on the nose, and that's with going 70-75 miles an hour and also ... Read More...

Pontiac Vibe Tire/Wheel Questions

Re: Pontiac Vibe Tire/Wheel Questions [shelaroo]

Ours is a 2005 and it's 44psi. All are different. Ours is a manual. They don't make them after 2007. We also have BFG tires. I don't like them, they keep going flat. This has been the only car I've had that picks up things or the tires loose air pressure. We talked to a tire guy and he made the suggestion 205 R 60's instead of 205 R55's. They would be slightly narrower, 1/4 ... Read More...

Re: MPG vs performance [zombietom3]

Hmmm...I still saw five of them listed on the site this morning. Here's a direct link to the page - maybe that will work: http://www.sawyerspontiac.com/VehicleSearchResults?search=new&location=&bodyType- =&make=Pontiac&model=Vibe&trim=&minYear=&maxYear=&maxPrice=&engine=&transmission- =&transmissionSpeeds=&drivetrain=&colorOEM=&colorExterior=&colorInterior=&fuelTy- ... Re: 2009 Pontaic Vibe - I drove it!

Well, I guess I was wrong about my guess on dealer inventory. My dealer did have a 2009 Vibe available, and I test drove it last night. It was a fully loaded GT model. Here are my first impressions (note - I didn't get to drive it for long as there were 2 other people waiting to drive it also). 1. The 2.4 liter motor is much quieter and smoother than my 2005's 1.8 liter. It ... Read More...

Pontiac Vibe Tire/Wheel Questions

Uneven tire wear

If you purchase a new Vibe, which is a great car. I would drive it out of the show room and then take it to the service department to have the alignment checked. I have a 2005 that started to make noise via the tires so I rotated at 5k. It got worse by 10k, rotated again. This went on to 22k when I took to dealer and said this thing is so loud you can not hear the radio. The said ... Read More...

Airbag Failure

My parents were just in an accident in my mother's Pontiac Vibe. They hit a jackknifed tractor trailer and the airbags failed to deploy. My parents were not seriously injured. However, my father, a former body and fender mechanic, says that the front end is quite damaged and that the car is possibly totaled. Has anyone heard of airbags not deploying in such a serious ... Pontiac Vibe - MPG-Real World Numbers

MPG on a VIBE vs. Nissan Versa vs. Toyota Matrix

Hi, I am choosing between these three cars, and am quite confused. I am told by both the pontiac and toyota dealer that the 2006 vibe was built by TOYOTA. However, when I look at the crash ratings posted in Edmunds, they show different crash ratings. I am quoted 36 city and 38 highway by both the dealers and my girlfriend who has the automatic transmission 2005 with ... Read More...

Just Bought A Vibe - How Did I Do?

I just purchased a 2005 Pontiac Vibe with 20,830 miles on it. It was a trade-in at a local dealership. Title checked out one owner and I spoke with the previous owner who reported no problems. Car looks and drives great. Automatic, power everything (but I think I would pay more for good old manual windows!) and a Sunroof. I never look at color on used cars, only mechanical ...
