We have a 2003 Vibe.  At about 8000 miles I started hearing what I thought was a bad wheel bearing in the rear axle.   The Pontiac dealer was upset with us for not rotating the tires at 6,000 miles.   He rotated them.  This left two noisy front tires and in a short time the back tires were also noisy.  We put up with the noise for a couple of years, bought a set of new tires ... We haul a 5 member family around,camping,road trips,shopping,2 carseats plus 3 children worth of jackets and lunches etc. We use this car for everything. I just traded my 2003 Vibe for a 2007. The 2003 had a couple of minor irritations, but obviously nothing to keep me from buying another one. Those irritations have all been addressed in the 2007. The only thing I would change in the 2007 is to go back to the double layer center console storage box that my 2003 had. Read More...

I bought a 2003 Matrix when that were first produced. The matrix in the same configuration as the Mazda 5 (at that time - 2003) was $1000 more expensive than the Matrix. I purchased my base Vibe with automatic on April 1, 2003. It now has about 35,000 miles on it (mostly city). The longest highway trip I have taken with it was about 200 miles one way. (I have a luxury car for the many "road trips" I take.) It consistently gets 28 mpg in the city, and about 34 on the highway, which pretty much matches the epa numbers on the label. Read More...

my wife has a 2003 Vibe, base model, automatic. we have driven it 30,000 miles. great little car. consistently gets 28 mpg city & 34 highway. only expenses so far--new tires @ 30,000 miles. we would recommend it highly. Read More...
