I am working with independent shop. Who has called GM several times. Also called GM Dealerships. He has most of the problems fixed now. Since the first people he had worked on were wrong. He found things wrong were they did not look. I will still buy GM made vehicles. I still love the car. Thanks Matt
ncmaverick410, I apologize for the problems you are experiencing with your vehicle. Are you working with a GM dealership or an independent shop? Thank you, Caron, GM Customer Service
My 2005 Pontiac Sunfire has had several problems over the past couple of months. When I was driving all my gages went to zero when I would start to break. After I started moving again they would go up. Also my lights started to dim. When I had the air on all my gages went to zero; when I turned the air off the gages went back up, when I had ... got gas came home, car will turn over but won't start now, no other problems.
that still sounds like the TCC solenoid. mine would stay in gear and jerk violently when i slowed down and when i tried to start it. once i unhooked the wire to the valve, i never had another problem.
the TCC solenoid has been a problem on GM vehicles for years. i had a 94 cavalier with the same problem. you should be able to unhook the wire and see if that fixes it. if it does, that was the problem.
I have the exact same problem with my 2005 Pontiac Sunfire. Did you ever get your problem resolved and if so what was the problem?
Hi. I have a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire. I bought my car in the summer of 2005, winter time came along, and my car would die and I would have to jump it. Only happened a couple times, I went to get it checked and they said to just replace the battery. I did... winter came back again the next year and what do ya know? Car dies. I have had to ... I am having similar problems with my 2001 Sunfire with about 103,000 miles. I had taken it to firestone b/c the car died and wouldn't turn over at all. They told me it was that the entire fuel system was fried. That costabout $800 to fix. Worked okay for half a day. Started driving it again and the whole car would just turn itself off. Then I took it back in ... Read More
How did this turn out for you? Did replacing the TCC Solenoid solve the problem you were having? I have a 2004 Sunfire and I have had very similar problems that you described. My car usually starts on the first try most of the time, but on 3 different occasions in the past month it has not started for me. The time between failed start-ups has shortened. February 16, 2007 the engine light stayed on. They replaced the EGR Modules as it was running on only 3 cylenders. Sunday, March 4th 2007 the engine light came on again. Drove off the highway sufficent to get to a local spot. Called the GM hotline and the car was towed to my home. It only has 27,000 KM's. Has anyone with the same car had similiar problems. 2.2
Your still under warranty. Take it immediately to the dealership. The extended warranty is the power train. There should be a little grean card inside you warranty book. Does the engine light come on at all. Mine did, also tried the block heater. Took it in and found it was only running on 3 cylenders. It GM's responsibility. BUT it the engine light is coming on or not TAKE IT IN. ... Read More

13,000 miles. I bought the car with only 3,000 miles. I notice that GM is offering an extended warranty on all if not most repairs. Obviously there must be known issues. The engine just started staying on today. It has been extremely cold here in Toronto. The car wants to chug and feels like it is going shut off. Never had this problem before. I looked at the serpintine belt and ... Read More
