Article Comments - 2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe Follow-Up Test

Re: FACTS prove this review wrong [pao]

I agree that driving both would be necessary to compare the cars in an informed way. I also agree that the new Miata could look better, but it will be interesting to see the 2009 model up close. As far as even weight distribution, hasn't that always been a key design goal for the Miata? They seem to take it pretty seriously, after all, the first and I believe second generation ... Article Comments - 2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe Follow-Up Test

Our hopes were high following the debut of the 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe at the 2008 New York Auto Show last year. We had not forgotten the ergonomic shortcomings of the Solstice. Nor had its functional limitations slipped our minds. It was mechanically the same curvaceous Solstice that had made us swoon in 2006. Only now it had a bitchin' hardtop. 2009 Pontiac ... Pontiac Solstice

Just got a new GXP

Introduction The Pontiac Solstice gained popularity after the 2007 blockbuster hit Transformers, where the Pontiac Solstice was the autobot form of Jazz. The sleek little sports car is as quick as it looks. So if your debating buying a car from this class I would recommend taking a look at the latest American design in the group. This report is intended to compare ... Read More...

Re: The Pontiac Soltice [thecarbuff]

Hello Carbuff. My story is similar. I saw the Solstice, liked it generally and left it. Last year I was in a place called Whitecourt Alberta doing my consulting work. AS I approached the school I was going to, I noticed this absolutely striking yellow car - I put down my briefcase and went to see this beauty. It was a solstice. I fell in love with it. Within 2 weeks I bought ... Read More...

Pontiac Solstice Lease Questions

Current Lease Programs on the Solstice?

Curious to know the current Lease and Smart Buy Programs on the Solstice. I'm looking to either lease or Smart Buy a new 2008 Base within the next couple of weeks. I'm looking at a 36 or 39 mo deal on 12k miles per year. Also, the Pontiac site lists lease support, but appears to be outdated. Anyone know anything about it? Any help is appreciated! Read More...

Re: Solstice Lease Questions [sheepdog1]

Hi sheepdog1. Unfortunately, I don't believe that General Motors is running a special lease program on the 2008 Pontiac Solstice any longer. If this is indeed the case, you may find that you are better off leasing one through an independent bank. By leasing through a bank other than GMAC, you will be able to take advantage of the $1,000 cash incentive that GM is ... Read More...

Re: Solstice Lease Questions [sheepdog1]

Hi sheepdog1. Given the fact that not that long ago dealers were selling the Solstice at full MSRP without any support from General Motors, the deals that are available on this car right now are amazing. It would be a fun little vehicle to drive around now that its lease program is so competitive. GMAC's program for this car varies by term and mileage allowance. ... Read More...

Pontiac Solstice vs 2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata

That is incredible...

did anybody else read the above post? I am a Kia guy who's purchased two new Kia's in a row. I'm currently making plans to purchase a 2008 Mitsubushi Lancer. Reading the above it just makes me wonder if GM ever thinks down the road at all. To make a new car and not build replacement parts for it is just plain stupid. steves5...I feel for you, man. GM is stupid. I don't know ... Read More...

Re: on star required [rorr]

Given the fact that past Pontiac efforts have gotten substantially BETTER a few years after their introduction, makes me think Mazda should be worried about the state of the Solstice in '08 or '09 Are you sure Pontiac will still be around in 2008 or 2009? GM is going to eliminate another division or two before their financial ruins improve. Read More...
