Pontiac Montana Electrical Issues
program mode not working
I just got my 2003 Pontiac Montana back from the transmission shop -- major work, not sure if it's 100% -- but that's another post. Since it was all pulled apart, a number of electrical things are not working: the automatic door lock, the power sliding doors and the parking aid are all non-functioning. The first time a tried reprogramming the locks I was successful ... Read More...
Re: coolant smells [walter]
The Pontiac Montana is one of the vehicles that is listed in the GM Dexcool Class Action lawsuit that was just settled. Your problem could be stemming from the infamous intake manifold. http://www.dexcoolsettlement.com/index.php3 It sounds like your vehicle should be one of the ones covered, from what you've told us. Model years 1995-2003 Equipped with ... Read More...

The bolt that holds the rocker arm down strips and the engine light comes on and the vehicle runs sort of shaky. Both times it happened, we took it to the mechanic immediately and he says ... Re: 2003 Pontiac Montana Fog Light switch??? [ficksee]
I think there is a switch in the Overhead Console Switch bank mentioned in #2 above that turns off the interior lights when the door is opened. (Probably a battery saving thing with kids or grown-ups leaving a door open.) Read More...
Re: 2003 Pontiac Montana Fog Light switch??? [writer]

There are 2 sets of what I would call "extra switches" for the Montana. One set is below the HVAC controls (heater, vent, AC controls). This is called the "Instrument Panel Switchbank". The other set of extra switches is over the windshield and is called the "Overhead Console Switchbank". If I recall correctly, the Fog lamps are in the "Instrument Panel Switchbank" ... Read More...

Forum Changes
I have just finished reading through the various postings in all the topics related to my 2003 Montana and I think that the "GM's triplets Venture, Silhouette, and Montana" topic should be made accessible from the "Pontiac Montana" Forum and this topic should be changed to "Read Only". This topic, so far, is really just a duplication, and since the vehicle is ... Read More...
