    It is the fuel sending unit. I have a 2003 Pontiac Montana and mine did the same thing to a T to yours. The fuel sending unit is for sale on Ebay for $19.99.     If you read through my previous posts/solutions my bet is that your heater core is blocked. If you have rear heat and it works but the front does not produce heat then it is almost certain that is what is wrong.     I think there is a switch in the Overhead Console Switch bank mentioned in #2 above that turns off the interior lights when the door is opened. (Probably a battery saving thing with kids or grown-ups leaving a door open.)

    There are 2 sets of what I would call "extra switches" for the Montana. One set is below the HVAC controls (heater, vent, AC controls). This is called the "Instrument Panel Switchbank". The other set of extra switches is over the windshield and is called the "Overhead Console Switchbank".     It's your heater core going out. I guarantee it. Costs about $300 dollars to replace at a shop. You can also try a can of Bar-Leaks which will plug the leak. My experience is this stuff only last for a couple months.

    I also am having a problem with the heater on my 2000 Montana. When you turn it on heat, the windows fog up completely and almost immediately. I have to run it on defrost all the time & it doesn't warm up at all. It worked fine last year & the AC worked last summer. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

    This is the intake gasket...it leaked so much dexcool out that the heater can't heat properly. I just had the same thing. Your A/C should be OK.

    After reading a few of these posts, I have a feeling my problem with the heat is tied to the AC problems as well. While idling or traveling at low speeds the heat in my van doesn't blow hot. I bought the van used in October so I haven't tried the AC yet. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?
