The GTO packs a wallop underhood, with 400 standard horsepower and a six-speed transmission. Steering and handling are on par with the Mustang.
Seats and interior are quite comfortable, and a well-tuned independent suspension soaks up the road admirably.
The interior layout is a cut above the usual GM fare, with nice gauges and controls that are logically placed and easy to use.
A handsome interior, but even hood scoops can't make this bar-of-soap design look like a GTO ought to.
