Have always had interest in uncommon cars. Wanted a C6 vette (see numbers of these every day) but still have teen at home and needed a back seat. The power along with the not-around- every-corner availability has proven to be a fantastic match. Everywhere I go someone wants to know what it is and does it go as fast as it looks and sounds. It provides the ideal combination of usable pedal to the road power and performance wanted in a new muscle car with the comfort level the 60's cars could only dream of. Even though it requires premium gas, the 21 mpg average mileage is higher than expected.

Favorite Features

The performance...makes you smile every time your foot moves toward the floor. The leather sport seats are extremely supportive and very comfortable. Interior well thought out and everything easily within reach. The sound you hear when starting it in the morning makes your day!

Suggested Improvements

Performance cars are not meant to be luggage carriers and this one is no exception. Trunk is quite small, but if you want to take a road trip, enjoy the car and pack light. Initial warranty is short compared to others, telling owners GM does not have a great deal of faith in their own products

What more can you say? 400 HP. Quiet, smooth ride, handles good and can take off like a rocket in a heartbeat. Sure the y could have done more with the appearance but that's what makes this car such a good package. Yeah some people may have bought a bad one and come on here and rip the car, but you'll have that with any model. Take it for a spin, you won't be disappointed. I sure wasn't.

Favorite Features

LS2, 6 Speed. They all come loaded.

Suggested Improvements

Trunk Space, and jacking points, but it's a sports car so if you're looking for features like that go buy a Crown Vic.

Holden chassis is excellent, great 400HP power with 6 speed and IRS. What else do you need?

Favorite Features

Transmission and rear suspension

Suggested Improvements

Trunk space is way small, could cut some area from the rear seat which is hard to get into anyway.

I drive my GTO daily when I'm in town. Unfortunately the car sits at the local airport 3-4 days per week. The car is perfect for me as a daily driver. It has great power, it's unique in that the GTO is not so plentiful out there that people see them everywhere so they notice it when they do see one, it handles well for the muscle car it is and it's comfortable even for me at 6'4" tall.

Favorite Features

The LS2 is the best GM engine ever made, the interior is much nicer than my friend's Corvette of the same year and it is just plain fun to blast around town in. The other thing you have to take into account is the price, this car is a lot of performance and fun for the money spent.

Suggested Improvements

With the GTO not being made any longer and Pontiac going away as a GM division improvements are not really an issue that will ever be addressed..

Best Car I've Ever Had By Far

I've got the more rare Impulse Blue Metallic '06 and I love her to death. Aside from a few things breaking (Water Pump went out, Radiator died twice, gas cap lock popping loose) I absolutely love this car. I've had several different Mustangs and once I drove this car I traded in the '94 Cobra I had to get this Lucky To Own car. I am actually designing a custom cold-air intake for mine and I hope to patent it and hopefully have it out for all you other goat lovers to buy at a much cheaper price than K&N intakes. Look for it soon! I've had mine on the 1/4 mile twice and had a huge grin all the way down the track. Especially since I went up against a Mustang GT and won on my first pass.

Favorite Features

The 400 horse powerhouse under the hood. No comparisons to others. I keep that engine as clean as the outside of the car cause it looks just as good. The 6 speed tranny is great too aside from the 1st to 4th feature which is annoying. I love the sound of this car too.

Suggested Improvements

Better wheel options. This car should also have a ram-air intake like the SLP Performance LS1 Camaros have. They were almost there on the design with the real hood scoops. The BFG tires stink also as others have also said.

Acquired this car new after turning in an '04 BMW 330 coupe. Definitely great power for the money. It doesn't handle like a BMW or Porsche, but those aren't muscle cars. Got the 6spd manual with the 18" wheels. Average 21 mpg in mixed driving, when I behave. The rear can get sloppy with slight road imperfections or slippery surfaces, but it teaches respect. After over 2 years I still dislike the gearbox, though. I despise the 1 to 4 lock-out in city driving, and it repeatedly pops out of gear. But just one stab at the throttle removes all frustrations. The exhaust note sells the car. It is quiet when you're cruising, but loud when you get into it.

Favorite Features

2-doors...6 liter V-8...throaty exhaust...knods from other GTO owners

Suggested Improvements

Bose stereo, On-Star, and sunroof would have been great options. The "gas-guzzler avoidance" gearbox is not for everyone.

Favorite Features

6.0 ltr v-8 , sound system, back seat room for passengers. power windows in the console. a/c vents for rear passengers. i just love this car.

Suggested Improvements

needs heated seats. auto climate control crome wheels.

Bought my 06 Cyclone gray GTO in march of 07. It now has 20,000 miles on it. And they've been trouble free thus far. This car has a better build quality, inside and out than the domestics seem to have. The performance is first rate. Mine has the 6 speed tranny. This engine has so much midrange power...It flat out hauls.

Favorite Features

LS2 engine. The 6 speed Tremec tranny. Build quality. Handling. Seat comfort.

Suggested Improvements

A better stereo would have been nice. The Blaupunkt does not measure up to a good Bose system. Better tires would have been nice also. The BFGs don't last long...and they're noisy.

Review

After having owned a 320HP Supra, and a 280 HP Mustang, this is absolutely my favorite car to date. The LS2 is fantastic, along with the 6 speed tranny (borrowed from the Z06 Corvette) and the rest of the car is generally fantastic as well. The interior is large enough to fit my 6'2" 240 lb frame very comfortably whether in the front, or back. The onbord computer is great with more options than a car this price should have. The stock stereo is great quality as well with an adjustable subwoofer accessable through the trunk. With average fuel economy of between 18 MPG city and 27 MPG highway (based on my own spirited driving), fuel consumption is quite low. Overall a great performance bargain!

Favorite Features

400/400 HP & TQ. LSD. Interior styling/seat compfort and spaciousness. Back seats. Lots of aftermarket support. Easy to up the HP. Onboard computer (customizable between MPH and KPH). Smooth ride quality. Great exhaust note. Silky smooth V8 & vette Z06 tranny internals on the 6 sp. Stock 18" rims

Suggested Improvements

Tighter suspension - stock springs too soft and often saggy. Stock rear wheel width not nearly wide enough. Poor factory intake design. Faster access to back seats. No split folding rear seats. no MP3 capability for CD player, or auxilary input. no sunroof option, or Navi.

When I went to a quarter mile track near where I live and I heard and saw one of these beautiful sleepers go down the track, I had to have one. Luckily only 2 months later there was a beautiful Cyclone grey one in mint condition ( you could eat off the engine) sitting in my garage. I have loved getting up every morning since knowing that I get to drive it every day. It's powerful, comfortable and the most fun automobile I have ever owned. I cannot stop smiling every time I get behind the wheel. What an awesome car!

Favorite Features

The getty up and go! I love this machine! And mind you repspect the muscle of the LS2 every time I sit behind the wheel.

Suggested Improvements

The factory spoiler is a little to large something more subtle would do just fine. It does have a tendency to obstruct rear views.
