Re: 2005 Grand Prix SE - Loose Accerator and Power Steering at Highway Speeds [prochie]

Here is an update of something similar to the symptoms I was receiving. I found a post from another forum that suggests there is a GM TSB 05-06-037 recommending a PCM firmware update (something I initially asked the dealer to look into but was instructed on how to use the cruise control instead) along with the high-resistance from the negative battery cable. Here ... Read More...

2008 Pontiac G8

Bought one ( Helping the economy & GM )

First – a sincere “Thank You” to those who have posted useful information here over the past several months, as I considered a G8 GT purchase. I appreciate you taking the time to post and specifically for answering several of my questions. Executive summary: This is as close to a ( reasonably priced ) 4-door Corvette as I see available today. With just over 2 years ... Read More...

2005 Grand Prix SE - Loose Accerator and Power Steering at Highway Speeds

I have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix - Base Model (SE). I purchased the car used from RoyFoss in Toronto at 20,000KM. This is as stock as you get mostly because of this issue - no frills or add-on's or modifications. The vehicle will be running highways speed of 100 to 120Kph. Does not happen during urban driving. The drive must be long range or heavy traffic. Climate does ... Read More...

2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

On October 20, 2007, I bought a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix in which within three weeks of purchasing the car I had to take it back to the dealership three times. The steering wheel was shaking when slow down, the front end of the car felt like it was going to come apart and since I didn't know anything about it, they told me it was fixed the first time. I took a trip to a different ... Read More...

Pontiac Grand Prix Tires and Wheels

Re: 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix tires [dstettner]

Well I have to agree. Took my wifes car into the tire shop today and the owner couldn't even guess what the strange wear pattern was from. We both checked the strut towerers for wear marks as thats what it looks like is happening. When we called the dealer he advised us to take it in and have the alignment checked. And he would see what our extended warranty covered. ... Read More...

2008 Pontiac G8

Short G8 GT test drive – impressions . . .

Executive summary: I liked it. I found no flaws or shortcomings in design or execution that I’d label ‘significant’. Brief background: I currently drive a C6 ( current generation, introduced in 2005 ) Corvette coupe. Automatic trans. with the same designation as the G8 GT – 6L80. It is stock, except for the exhaust. It is a rather more ‘intense’ driving experience, ... Read More...

Grand Prix DIC and Aftermarket Radios

2005 Pontiac Grand Prix When an afternarket radio is installed, there is a bypass unit/adapter that you can buy to keep the factory beeps, as the beeps originally go through the radio. You can also get an adapter to bypass and relocate the stock radio to somewhere else (like the trunk) to retain these features. I have the first of the two. The problem is that I think ... Pontiac Grand Prix Starting / Stalling Issues

2001 Grand Prix GT

Hey, I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix and it has insane problems. The Service Engine Soon light came on a few days ago and has yet to turn off. Also I get the Tac dropping to 0 and then about 5-10 seconds later the Traction Control turns off. Also when the car is cold it seems and if I am going around corners or up a hill the car will stall and sometimes it will start right away ... Read More...
