My daughter has 2004 Grand AM and it didn't start several times with the security light blinking but worked after "10 minute reset". The security light is constantly on lately but the cars starts OK. I havent tried putting my car in neutral to get it to start when I had Passlock/security key issues. Look in the Passlock/Security forum on here. It should explain to put the key in the ON position for no less than like 12 min (which lets the car relearn your keycode). Eventually if that doesnt work try 1 hour. Thats what I had to do. The local Pontiac Dealer doesn't know what's wrong with the car unless the security light is on while they are working on it. It went off before I arrived at the dealership. How stupid are they? I own a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT....And this is a continual problem, it will be fine for a while and then out of the blue it will start up again....The security light will come on and the next time you go to start your car it won't start and you have to wait the ten minutes with it on acc and when the security light quits flashing it will start. The passlock reset worked great!! I own a 2004 grand am GT that has 37,000 miles on it. Last thurs. 5/22 was my first encounter with being stranded by the passlock system.
