Re: New Stalling Symptoms [jt1987]
My son has a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am SE with the 4 cylinder engine with 58,000 miles on it. The last few years I have been having problems with it but I wont go into all the stuff since most of it has been covered in this thread already to the "T"!. The lastest was 2 days ago. He came home from work in the evening (car was running fine). He went to go to college the next morning ... Read More...
Electric Ignition Switch
I had been having problems where my 2003 Grand Am SE was not always starting. It always turned over but wouldn't start sometimes. I had a fuel pump replaced because basic tests by mechanics showed there wasn't any fuel pressure and the pump's motor wouldn't always come on when you turned the car on. Well 2 1/2mo. later w/a new fuel pump and the Pontiac dealership ... Read More...

To debjk57-- I have a 2003 GT and last March the same thing happened to me. I ended up spending over $1400.00 to get this fixed. GM is being sued for this problem and there is a class action suit that is supposed to be settled in April or May of 2008. GM was aware of this problem, it stems from the gaskets, which are nylon, giving way to the Dexcool brand coolant. I understand ... Read More...

Re: 2003 Pontiac Grand Am V6 SE Starting Problems [hammerhead912]
We just had a problem with our 03 Grand Am not starting. We went to get dinner and a half an hour later it wouldn't start. It would turn over and maybe start for about 2 seconds and then die. We ended up having to reset the passlock by putting it in the inginition for 10 minutes and then starting it. It worked, but the mechanic said that it will only help so many times, and ... Re: Coolant for 2003 Pontiac Grand Am [debjk57]
Your problems may just be beginning, debjk57, and a 2003 is out of warranty even if mileage does not exceed GM's miserable 36,000. Please review my post No. 239 for lots of sad details. Your coolant leakage/disappearance is almost certainly due to failed intake manifold gaskets. Gradually the rate of leakage will increase until you start getting low coolant ... Read More...
