ccsmileybear, I do not believe you need a new key. This thread deals with Pontiac security systems which have the resistor and switches as part of the ignition switch. If your vehicle is between 1999 and 2003, it's likely you don't have a system which relies on a circuit in the ignition key. What year and model is your pontiac? 1. I've read this and heard this from those who work on cars that the 4 cyl motors are not very good. i heard many issues, but their v6 motors are very good. case and point: my 1994 grand am is a 3.1L v6 and I'm running on 205,000+ miles on it and it runs like i just bought a brand new car(it also still has the great pep it had when it was new) if your looking for 1998-2002, you really ... I wanted to know if I could use there transmissions even if it is a little older. Also I am in need of a power steering pump as well, so I would need that too from. If the security light is coming on while it's running, or it comes on and flashes when you try to start it, then yes, it's a Passlock issue. "Pumping the gas" in a fuel injected engine won't do you any good. Read More...

WIth my car the Security light has turned on while I am driving. I haven't had too many problems with the Pontiac Grand Am except when I would try to turn it on occasionally it would start and turn over strong but would not catch. ok...i have a 99 GA SE and i've taken my door panel off MANY times...unless they are made COMPLETELY different...there is a hidden screw behind the reflector...be careful taking that off cause they break EASY...there is also a screw inside connecting the door panel to the door...u have to take off the switch that controls the window and the door lock...behind ... there is a wege piece at the top side of the dooe panel. remove the 2 screws. that will let door panel slide up. they are torque head screws. hope this helps joe Read More...

I am so sick and tired of my piece of s*#t car it is a 2002 Grand Am, I just want to run it off a cliff. Its possessed, it only starts when it wants to. This is great!! My window on my 99Grand AM GT went down and will not go back up. How do I remove the inner door panel. There is a screw below the handle and one inside the rotating door latch and one insid ethe locking switch. I have experienced similar issues with my 1999 Buick LeSabre, where the security light stays on and occasional random non starts occur.
