    I am looking into filing suit against GM for the transmission failures in 2005 - 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP, Chevy Monte Carlo SS & Chevy Impala SS.     I just had my 2007 Grand Prix, I think, fixed for the same problem. Fix they replaced the hub bearing and a week later the had to replace the speed sensor harness. I have 47,000 miles on the car and now that I'm reading that this is very common with the Pontiac to me it seems it should be addressed by GM. The dealer themselves say its a common problem.

    I've got a 2007 GP GT, 7000 miles. When it was "brand new, fresh from dealer" and less than 2000 miles, we had one tank of gas--Albuquerque to Farmington--that we got 32+, hand calculated--not DIC readout. Average speed was 65 mph. We continue to get excellent mileage when out on open roads.

    Ummm, I think there are two cars called the Solstice and the G6 that seem to be in the news a bit.... I don't think Pontiac is going anywhere. The line will get smaller, but it's all part of the Buick/Pontiac/GMC lineup.     Actually, Buick and Pontiac are in the same ball-park, but Buick is more profitable. Granted, most of Buick buyers won't be alive to trade their current purchases, but it seems to me that it's written on the wall that Pontiac will be axed. GM displays Buick concept cars and no Pontiac ones; it feeds the buzz on upcoming and current Buick models, but mums on Pontiac ones... :(
