2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 4dr Sedan (3.8L 6cyl S/C 4A)
Review
Cars are often rated by factors such as reliability, safety, and performance, but there is one key feature that most reviewers can't explain...the thrill. The Grand Prix, particularly in the GTP w/ Competition Group package, was a car that was immediately exciting to sit in, and even moreso once it was taken on the road. All stresses and worries are taken away every day when I get in it now...it has the stability and roominess of a large car, but effortless steering and power more typically associated with lighter sports cars. Not only that, but the car allows me to go fast, look fast, and not look like a pompous jerk or a pimpled teen while doing it. Accords don't have that ability.
Favorite Features
Heads-Up Display, Steering Wheel Radio Contrls (don't add anything more to the wheel, though), unique Comp G wheel style, TAPShift, no rolling during turns, instant power (when in Manual mode), 2nd gear launches (in Manual when on snow), VERY soft leather but super-supportive front seats.
Suggested Improvements
Better location for rear cupholders and/or rear bucket seats like the GTO's (even as an option), please! It's no fun and not exciting to tear around corners when friends and family in back are hitting the doors or each other and then complaining about it. Downshift time in Drive is far too long.
