I have the same car in the same condition. I have asked several mechanics and every time I was given a price tag of $1,500 to $1,600 to repair. I was told to have both gaskets replaced while having the one replaced. I looked into just the parts only and I can do it myself for about $50 bucks. I can order an entire gasket kit for $161. So if you ... Read More
i own a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix and i have spent $40 dollars on my gasket. I am also looking to sell my car for $2500 it is in excellent condition.
Im not sure bout a 94 but i just replaced the head gaskets on my 02'. If the 94 set up is anything like the 02' $500 might get u half way. I also had a leaking intake gasket so after i had gone down that far wasn't much to just take the head off and do that also. After i had it all back together head was still leaking. While ... Before you buy the car, you need to be sure that no anti-freeze leaked into the engine oil. If so, serious damage could be done to the engine. If the engine oil is a milky color, then the anti-freeze has leaked into the oil. Generally, with GM's gasket failures (V6 engines) the leak is external and there is no internal engine damage if repaired promptly after discovery. Also, note the 94 ... Read More
I'm looking into possibly buying a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix SE Sedan and the seller listed that everything is in good working condition and everything runs good. The only fault I've seen (so far at least) is that they said the head gasket needs to be replaced.. Now my question is does anyone know around how much that repair would be? Or does anyone have a guestimate as to prices? Thanks! ... Read More

Just purchased a 94 Grand Prix with 125k miles. I would like to hear about maintenance issues from Grand Prix owners that had owned one. Thank you.
i own a Pontiac Grand Prix. A vacuum hose is loose, and i cannot find where it needs to be plugged in at. There is also a lot of smoke that comes from the Engine. Is the hose not being plugged in causing it? and where does the hose go?

If you have antifreeze in with your oil, you have a leaking manifold gasket. Not that uncommon with GM, (I have already had one replaced on a 2001 Olds Alero), but very expensive. Do a google search for "GM manifold gasket leaks" and you will find a list of cars and engines that this applies to. On a 12 year old car with the miles you have on it, I doubt ... Read More
Well about 3 years ago i bought my dream car. A clean 1994 Grand Prix for $3300.00 at dealer i thought was a friend. From Day one it had a service soon light. However right now, the car when I give it gas it fumbles and will NOT go. It feels like the car wants to die. If we are talking about the same thing it sounds like a glass shop should be able to re-glue or re-fasten new channels/guides to the glass.
My son's 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix coupe door glass on both the right and left sides comes out of the channel runs as the retaining clips have broken off the glass on the door handle edges. Is there a repair methodology for this or will I have to replace the glass itself?
Leasing is NOT an option for me. I never had an Olds Intrigue. I drive 35-55 thousand miles a year, though my job with the Government just changed, which will cut my mileage by 10-15k, it looks like. I live and work in Western West Virginia. My Impala has 143k on it right now. I also drive to the places where the objects of a passion I have are, amusement parks. ... Read More
After a year of looking for just the right car, we finalized a deal last week on an 01 Grand Prix GT. It's a beautiful dark green now sporting a bra on the front plus mirror bras on both sides. The car looks wonderful. We looked at the Impala SS and Hyundai GS300L. Couldn't get a decent price for our trade-in (1994 Chrysler LHS) so we went with Pontiac and their ... Read More
