I'm having the same issue with mine - it's been leaking for about a year now, but I had not idea until the pieces of the puzzle started fitting together. GM should really step up to the plate here and recall / fix these common issue or as anyone else would call them: defects. I'm extremely disappointed with GM.
I have a 2008 Pontiac G6 (No sunroof) and currently having problems where water is leaking through the Driver side and Passenger side floor boards. No, it is very frustrating. GM doesn't make good on ANY of their mechanical issues. I called them several times, and went up to the management level and was told that since I was not a "regular" customer at their GM dealer they would not repair the problem. Hello, I have been having the same problems and apparently I took it to the dealer and he said that its one of the spark plugs in the cylinder 1. So, my question is how do I trust its the cylinder. the issue for the rear sunroof tubes is that they have to much tension at the rear of the sunroof drain tray . this causes the tubes to pull loose from the tray extensions. the fix ( without the extension tubes ) is to lower the rear of the headliner, loosen the mounting clips for the rear tubes but only the first 3 on either side. than you pull the tube ... WEll the GM dealer quoted me $700 to install the extension tubes, so if you can tell me how to fix it that would be great… since it was raining inside my car yesterday. :-(
most of the time this issue can be resolved for under $200.00 without the extension tubes. it takes about an hour and a half.

GM is not bankrupt, they are still responsible to handle warranty and safety issues of the cars that were manufactured under the GM name even if the Pontiac division went out of business, GM didn't. I'm sure an attorney can give you more complete information on this; however, the statement quoted above is untrue, legally, even if ethically you are correct.
Thanks for the info I'm going to report the issue to everyone and anyone that I can. Even if I have to call the news media… It doesn't do me any harm to make everyone aware.. and lawyers will take any case they believe they can get paid on. What you say is true; however, lawyers don't just take on any old lawsuit - they only take the ones they believe they have a good chance of winning. Good morning waelg, I'm sorry to read about the unsatisfactory experience you've had with your dealership. MINE WAS TRANSMISSION IT WAS SOUNDING LIKE TIN CANS UNDER THE HOOD. NO WARNING JUST THE SOUND. IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
As gonogo mentioned, you are likely still within the powertrain warranty. If we can get you the specific parameters of your warranty, please get us the last 8 digits of your VIN in an email and we'll get you that information! Sarah GM Customer Service
You have a 5 year 100K warranty on drive train, your covered.
My 2008 Pontiac G6 GT is doing this exact same thing. I am afraid its the transmission. :( I just spent $900 on new tires last month so I'm hoping this repair isn't expensive! Did you ever find out what was wrong with yours? Thanks, Abby
Just wanted to update you on this issue; it turned out to be a miss on one of the cylinders with the engine under load, not the transmission. Don't know what is causing it yet though?
The transmission may be a possible cause, but having the vehicle looked into in general wouldn't be a bad idea. If we can assist in working with a dealership, please contact us via email with more information (please include your name/Edmunds username, the last 8 of your VIN and current mileage, and the name of your dealership). My coworker Christina will advise you from there! Regards, Sarah GM Customer Service
