Battery Won't Stay Charged
I'm not real smart when it comes to fixing a car but here is the problem at hand: My 1995 Pontiac Bonneville won't keep a charge to the battery. I can jump start the car and it seems like it will run fine, but when you shut it off and try to restart the car it just clicks as if theres no power at the battery. So far I've replaced the battery and the altenator. The new battery ... Read More...
Pontiac Bonneville Starting/Stallling/Ignition Problems
Re: Shutting Off [gphilpott]
I too have this problem. When car shuts down, the windows do not work, nor does the drivers seat controls work. I replaced the fuel pump thinking the lack of fuel was the cause but was wrong. I found out today that 1995 through 2001 gm has problems with the ignition switch. Apparently a slight jar to the car while driving, not always picked up by the driver, causes the ... Read More...
Pontiac Bonneville Heating/Cooling Problems
Re: Not heat but air works [dmx6]
Okay, I have read all 38 posts under this topic and I am having the same issues. I have a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi and I just recently replaced the battery. After that, I too only have heat for a few seconds when I turn it on, then it goes out. If I turn the car off and restart it, there is heat again, and then the process starts over. It is currently 6 degrees here in Colorado ... Read More...

Brake problem
I have a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville and the brakes are not working correctly. When I apply the brakes, the pedal depresses about half way and gets hard. The car will brake but not 100%. It seems as though not all wheel are braking. there are no leaks visible and the brake fluid level is full. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks Read More...
Re: 1995 Bonneville Stalling [deemo27]
Update. Well, after 3 days the check engine light came on. Code 122-the TPS. So, no problem right? Well, almost. Changed the sensor, no change, check engine light again. Try a second sensor(see previous posts as to why). No change. Try a 3rd new sensor. No change. Ughhhh! Replaced computer AGAIN(3rd new one) from different manufacturer and different distributor. ... Evandro-Which issue? My point is- We are talking about 3 different coolant leaks causes. (And the Montana never used a 3.8L engine. The last 3.8 GM Van was the 1995 TransSpot which did not use the Series II that went into the Bonneville.) oldram51--If yours was a gasket leak then why did you repalce $500 worth of Lower Intake Manifold and Upper Intake Manifold (Plenum)? ... 95 Bonny Probs
I have a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi that I purchased used. It was always my dream car so I had to have it. Well within my 1 year of ownership I have had NUMEROUS problems with it. 1. when idling the engine runs VERY rough and when you first start the car, revs to 2500 rpms and then idles down and dies. Start it again and it will stay running but very very rough. After a few ... Read More...
Transmisson problems #520, # 508, #216 etc
I seem to have had and resolved an identical transmission problem with my 1995 Chevy Lumina. I have the 3.4 DOHC engine and I believe the same transmission as the Pontiac Bonneville (4T60E or something like that). At around 85,000 miles the car began to shift out of overdrive and go to third at highway speeds (80mph or so) and stay there. The only way to make it shift ... Read More...
