best car so far
Vehicle
1990 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Royale 4 Dr Brougham Sedan
Review
Bought the car with 90K on it. Noe I have 210K. I have not done any maintenence on it except oil changes and breaks. It is by far the best riding and most comfortable car I've ever had. I get unbelievable milage on the highway. I am dissapointed, however, that it has only one cup holder; but a quick trip to Canadian Tire for a console fixed that. This car is reliable, gets great milage and has enough power to make you feel confident when passing on those busy 2- lane highways. This is a great used car!
Favorite Features
Powerful, fuel efficient and comfortable.
Suggested Improvements
More cup holders
This car deserves more respect

I work as a Valet and I have driven everything from a Geo Prizm to a Bentley This Oldsmobile is one of the top 3 most comfortable cars I have ever driven. It seems to have a problem with alternators going out, but they are cheap and other than that, the car has been a very pleasant surprise. I would Definately buy another.
Favorite Features
The seats, The seats, The seats! Good Gas Mileage, Good guages, Great Comfort.
Suggested Improvements
Cup holders, Keyless entry, Vent button on the climate control...Why did they make the whole climate system an ON/OFF option only??
decent (boring) car

I received this car as a gift from my grandparents when i was in college. It has been generally reliable so far (I have about 140,000 miles on mine). I have driven it many times in snow, and it has performed admirably, due to its front-end weight. I have averaged 23mpg, which isn't so bad for such a large car. Maintenance-wise, i am on my THIRD alternator. I also had to replace the ignition module, the exhaust, and the rear suspension pieces. The transmission has developed a problem where it doesn't like to downshift, and my power windows and keyless entry system no longer work (annoying). The white paint is chipping, too.
Favorite Features
3800 engine, climate control, interior space, low-end torque,
Suggested Improvements
no airbags or antilock brakes, the suspension is too mushy, the "floaty" Oldsmobile ride is annoying, transmission needs to downshift more freely, bigger alternator, cupholders

My biggest complaint is the paint is peeling. It has white paint. Take a look if this is important. It runs great. I guess I'm a little bit tough on the car, but I think it has another 100,000 miles on it. I think the only work I have done on it was a fuel pump replaced. About 20 mpg

I got the car as a hand-me-down from my parents at 140,000 miles. I have had very little problems with the car and I have it still running at 247,000 miles. The engine is just now starting to burn a minor bit of oil between oil changes. The 3800 V-6 engine is a great engine.
Favorite Features
reliability and the fuel economy are great.
Suggested Improvements
Better over all look and cup holders.

What can I say? Completely OUTSTANDING!

I needed a car to drive everyday.A car that could handle dreadful gravel roads in the country EVERY day.A worthless Honda would never handle the job. What did I see most on the road-Oldsmobiles.I have neighbours who own Olds 88's or the identical Buick Lesabre. Most of them have 325,000km and up.I wanted a car with a great reputation for its age, decent gas mileage and luxury. So I bought a 1990 Olds88(136,000km).I love it.ItÂ’s loaded with features you won't find on a new car.Air ride,Digital Dash & ClimateControl,CD, p.seats, k.entry, BOSEspeakers.I wouldn't trade it if someone paid me to!GM sold millions and theres' still millions on the road today. These cars should go down in history!
Favorite Features
The whole car is my favourite. I also have a 1996 GMC Sport Truck. I choose to drive the Olds over it everytime!
Suggested Improvements
Needs no improvements. Although its too bad GM doesn't make Oldsmobile anymore.

Nothing but the best car I have ever driven. Reliable, Comfortable, and classy. Should go down in history as one of the 80's best cars, and one of GM's Best Ever. Find a clean one now, in 20 years it will be worth something. They are extreemly underpriced on the used car market now, take advantage.
Favorite Features
Just plain bulletproof, rewarding ride.
Suggested Improvements
Definately nothing needs to be done...unless you want a modern CD player.
