It is strange that you are getting this answer even when it regards engine noises. I have had a number of problems with my 2010 Nissan Versa with CVT, - the response I get from the service guys at the dealership is that these noises and things which I consider problems due to poor quality and assembly are normal. My Versa was made in Mexico. The Aquasalientes plant has production problems; ... Read More
Wha tis wrong? Well according to the Nissan dealership(s) and the "NIssan Technical Tean", - there is nothing wrong. Read the following carefully, and your conclusion should be not to buy this car or any other Nissan vehicle. The dealerships do not instill confidence, nor do the customer service divisions nor the Technical Experts in engineering. Shoddy product is being produced in Mexico, and then shipped to cold climates. The Versa ... Read More
Bought it last year March of 2010, heard about a week or two after buying it the "clunk clunk clunk clunk noise after I get to about 15-20 miles. Called the dealer, they said to bring it in, I did. They said that its "normal" for the ABS to do this. Another issue is when the road is wet and I apply the brakes, the breaks lock up and feel like ... Read More
Hi Forum, I haven't had time to come and look at your posts in the last few months, but here I am again. I have dealt with Nissan Technical Services, and they are pretty lame. They told me that the WHINING NOISE with the CVT transmission is normal, and that there is nothing they can do about it. They told me that the CLUNK, CLUNK, CLUNK, CLUNK NOISES coming from the ... I have a 2010 Nissan Versa that is a few months old. The service engine soon light has come on 3 times. Been given the old "loose gas cap" routine. Now, they say it is bad gas. Codes shows "Fuel System Lean". Dealer wants $250 to drain the gas and put new gas in. I have been driving about 40 years and never had "bad gas" before. Is this a reasonable ... Read More

Hello, I received my new Versa 1.8L SL with CVT transmission in July 2010, - brand new. I am beginning to think that I received a lemon! Everything went wwell until mid September 2010 when I had 3289 km on it, and I statred to notice strange noises. A whistling noise was coming from the underside of the car. This whistling noise became more pronounced when I would be decelerating coming ... Read More
It might light a bit of a fire under them to contact Nissan directly, although I'm not clear on what you mean by "rotational rattle". To me, that conjures up something like a noisy fan that's rattling as it's spinning, or something like a loose metal shield that's vibrating at a certain engine RPM... in other words, something external ON the engine, not an internal noise like valve noise. Does the ... Read More
I'd love to accept that the rattling noise is perfectly normal on the Versa, but when I was given the Versa hatchback automatic as a rental, that car didn't make the same noise. Thanks for your input. I'm just going to keep at it with these service guys. Would it be of any help for me to contact Nissan directly?
I have a 2007 6-speed Versa with 78,000 miles on it and I'm picking up a 2010 tomorrow as I pass the 2007 along to my daughter. The 2010 is going to be my first with ABS, so I'm expecting to hear noises I haven't heard before. I'm not clear what you mean by "rotational rattle" but I'll say that the Versa makes a little more noise from under the hood ... Read More

i also went to look at the nissan versa 1.8 S HB yesterday, with powerpackage (including cruise control and power windows, etc.) i was offered $14,900 OTD (the offer included the $1250 rebate but excluded the $500 rebate, as i was not sure if i wanted to purchase by the end of this week). taxes are 6% here. so, i guess if i went to purchase today, it would be $14,400 ... Hi Flippy Hopkins, hopefully I am not too late to give you my opinion. Back in June, I was seriously considering the S model Versa with all options you mentioned, plus ABS. With the cash rebate back then ($2000), I would be able to buy a brand new one for about $14500 - $14800 OTD. I live in SF bay area and sale tax is high in CA. If you have ... Read More
Howdy all... According to the September issue of Motor Trend magazine the 2010 Yaris will gain traction/electronic stability control as standard equipment. This is great, if it's true. I see nothing about this "gain" anywhere online with what little research I've done. Can anyone in the know out there confirm this? At times I doubt MT is really on the beam, so to speak. I do know that upper level versions ... Read More
Hi... I'd like to know why Nissan saw fit to eliminate the Sun and Sound package from its options list for the Versa SL sedan. Anyone have an idea? The automaker claims it's due to lack of interest on the consumer's part...that customers just don't seem to want that package with the sedan. I disagree, speaking for myself. A sunroof and high powered audio system with subwoofer would really make the ... Read More
