Hi, just purchased a 2008 Nissan Versa and when I got home I noticed the gas cap door won't lock. Does anyone know how to fix this? If it is a part missing? Was really bummed when I got home. Another thing, the radio will not get one clear station. I know this has something to do with the antennae, but just can't figure out where it hooks up.
I have a Dodge Caliber with a similar Nissan CVT tranny to the Versa. I agree, the CVT can get good MPG, but only if true feather footing is used. Compared to other Caliber drivers who drive their CVTs 'normally' (which isn't normal, since Americans are always in a hurry), I can get 10+% better MPG. Compared to lead-footers, I get 20+% better MPG. A classic example......when starting from a stop, ... Read More
Step one... deep breath. Sometimes it seems when you have one issue with a car, other things catch your eye or ear and you wonder, "Is this bad too?" Not saying that your car isn't hesitating, but it is possible that you're just noticing something that's been there all along. I've done that myself Now, back to your actual issues. Vibrating brake pedal DOES sound like warped rotors (NOBODY makes rotors ... Read More
I am so frustrated and I hope you can help me. I have a 2008 Nissan Versa (isn't the CVT version). I am the first owner and I have only 50,000 KMS on it. I went in to have my 50,000 Kms maint. done which included cleaning the brakes, oil change, filter change ect. ($769's later... ) I leave the dealership and my brake pedal is vibrating when I push on ... Read More
You might also check out the Nissan Versa and Sentra, which have $2000 and $2500 in rebates currently. The Mitsubishi Lancer has $2000 off. All are worlds better than a Yaris. Lower cost for a better vehicle due to the rebates. The winner, IMO, is the Versa. Here is another sobering thing to consider when about the Yaris: http://www.iihs.org/research/hldi/composite_cls.aspx?y=2006-2008&cls=2&sz=1&sort- - - =all The Yaris is among the highest in terms of ... 2009 Versa SL purchased new in late november of 2008 literally off the showroom floor. Last friday I was informed by a nissan service rep who couldn't look me in the eye as the news was delivered that I needed a new engine. 70,000 kms (that's approx. 40 K miles), less than two years old, half the mileage is highway and it was never run low on oil although I did ... I have a 2008 Nissan Versa with 50,000 miles on it. At 43,688 miles my car made a loud buzzing noise while the car was running as well as when it was turned off. I brought it to Nissan and after 3 attempts to figure out the problem they finally found the A.C. system's blower box was leaking and that leak caused a short in the keyless entry system which caused ... I just way overpaid for a 2008 Versa SL. We were trying for months to find a good deal to get out of a lemon malibu that was falling apart after 70k miles. We were way upside down, and trading itis was a not going well. I love this damn car though. I paid $17.9 after the upside down trade in, but my monthly payments only went up by 6 bucks. ... Not bad for the first 100+ miles. Now, granted, this is such a small/early sampling, that I would certainly not expect this to be the "norm" data point. But, it is a good enough start to note. We drove home our 2008 Versa SL HB CVT in mostly highway traffic (at ~ 60mph); with about 5 miles of start-stop traffic. The last forty miles included mixed traffic plus a full hatchback ... Hello Folks, I just purchased a beautiful 2008 Nissan Versa. 1.8L with 6 spd manual. This car was purchased with MPG's in mind. I just took a new job which requires a 60 mile commute daily through a big city interstate system. So far I have been using the cruise control when I can, which is most of the time, and not going any faster than 60 MPH. In this thread ... Read More
OK so I had a 2007 Versa and after having those horrible transmission problems and being laughed at when I said that it was the transmission ( I was told "CTV transmissions are the best and NEVER have ANY issues), ten trips to the dealership later and after having it totally die, go into limp mode 3 times and almost being hit turning left when in limp mode I took the ... Hi Cathy Not sure what happened to you in the end BUT I had exactly the same problem with my 07 Versa. I ended up taking it in 10 times to the dealership and being patted on the head and told there was nothing wrong with CVT transmissions and I was crazy. They had to replace the entire transmission in my Versa. SO I took it back to the dearlership and ... Read More
I love my Nissan Versa Hatchback!!! :) I bought it new in April of 2008 in Hawaii and usually averaged between 38-42 mpg. I opted to get the upgraded packaged with the CVT transmission, bluetooth feature, and other accessories. I was really suprised to see so many disgruntled users. In Hawaii the fastest highway speed is 60 mph, this may also have something to do with why I was getting better ... Read More
i just noticed the same thing on my Nissan Versa 2008, after only 10000 miles. Windshield crack appeared on the upper portion of the passenger side and went downward nearly 4 inches . Glad i found this site. I thought i was the only one with this problem. I am going to report this to the Nissan service. I hope they will cover vehicle warranty.
Did you (or anyone else) ever get any answers from Nissan on what was causing the problem or what they were willing to do about it? I have a 2008 Versa and am experiencing the same problem. I was halfway through dialing AAA before it finally started. Not what I need when I'm working out of town on a holiday weekend!
I am having the same problem as many others with the dead battery. If I have not used the car in 3 or more days, the battery is dead. The longer not in use, the more dead it is (Intelli-key wont work at all). Personally I will not be bothered with ABS. ABS can be a safety device to avoid skidding during wet weather or snowy weather but it will also increase braking distance, especially when its about to hit the car in front of you, the harder you brake, the worst it became as it release the brake avoiding locking of wheels with the result, you hit the car in front of you.
