I have been shopping for a Civic / Jetta / Rabbit but I walked into a Nissan showroom, saw and drove the versa and had struck a deal in an hour. It's got loads of rear legroom, is very very quiet and I shift gears at less than 4000 rpm. It's even got a six-speed manual transmission. It seems there is confusion about whether the Versa has VVT or not. I am glad Edmunds.com tested a non-ABS Versa. It helps confirm the need for ABS in the Versa. It appears the Edmunds staff is getting pretty good fuel economy on the Versa--30 mpg average in SoCal isn't too shabby. FWIW, almost every new car these days comes standard with a tilt steering wheel, and most cars in the Versa's price range have a 60/40 rear seat. MP3 jacks ... Read More...

I asked him the question everyone on this forum is asking, "what is your MPG on the Versa?" His answer... Our old 1994 Nissan Maxima that the Versa replaces....gets better MPG than our 2007 Versa! As I recall, didn't the '94 Maxima come with a 3.0 liter V6? Read More...
