Drove Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota light trucks. Bought Nissan. The KA24 motor runs great. More or less gutless but totally bullet proof. Gets 20mpg with the 5 speed and with the Limited slip option it can hold its own off road. Looked seriously at the Tacoma and for the price and quality this was absolutely the best small 4X4 truck I could buy.
The cab feels really open and the sunroof and windows keep it from feeling like driving around in a closet. LSD keeps all 4 wheels turning in the rough.
Larger speakers with the stock system. I like Nissan but did they really have to pack all the engine components on the passenger side of the engine? Hard to reach some common components like the oil filter.
