Built to last if given proper care and feeding. The manual transmission gave out at 185,000 miles. Didn't give out in the traditional sense, though. Never left me stranded, drove it for a long time with a very "noisy" transmission. Pretty comprehensive rebuild on the transmission and clutch came to $1800; flywheel and rear main seal were fine. Truck runs like a fine Swiss watch, burns no oil, no leaks either. While $1800 seems like a lot of money for a truck with 185,000 miles, it is only about four or five payments on a new truck!

This is about the sixth truck I have
owned, second Nissan (well, Datsun for
the first). I have driven it everyday
for more than five years, clocking
124,000 miles with only one major
repair: Mass air sensor at 92,000
miles-expensive!-and a tune-up at that
time to change out the original
factory plugs. Oil changes like
clockwork every 3000 miles, uses none
between changes. I plan to drive it
another 124,000 miles. Like this so
much we bought a Nissan Quest last
year and are looking for a Nissan
Sentra for our kids' car.
