LOVE my pickup

Review

My mother bought this truck back in 1995 as a bank repo. 11 years and 1 owner later, it is still running like a champ. Except for switching to bucket seats from the standard bench, nothing else has been done other than routine maintenance. I plan on keeping this pickup until it either rusts through or the engine gives up the fight (which I expect to take at least another 100,000 miles). It has no air and some rust, but is still perfect to haul the dogs and other large items as well as be my backup vehicle. Don't know if the newer trucks are as good as this one - but if they are, I'd definitely go for one when mine gives up the fight.

The fact that you can't seem to kill it!

Like another poster, my interior vents are falling apart, but since I don't have air, it's only a problem in winter.

Review

I wanted a small truck and the Nissan caught my eye over the Mazda that year. This truck has been to the tip of the Baja and back. No major problems and this 2wd was made to do some 4wdriving. This truck owes us nothing. $12500 back then and we've gotten our money's worth. I hope the next one is as good. I think there must be a record with the same clutch from day one and 15 years later.

Has to be the clutch that won't quit after 330,000 kms.

Car runs great, the air condioning vents fell off and the power steering leaks, but it is good as a 3rd. vehicle.

I've always owned full size trucks in the past so this is new for me. It's a fun little truck to drive, it handles great. I've yet to do any major work to it. I just got back from a trip to see my son three states away. A total of 24 hours of driving there and back. The truck didn't miss a beat. The one big draw back was the lack of power. They shouldn't be allowed to put 4cyl. in these things. On flat ground, no problem. But drive it thru W.Va. Man what a drag. Also if you put over sized tires on it be ready to watch your fuel mileage go down big time. But thats the way I bought it.

Favorite Features

The 4 wheel drive. Between hunting season and the snow, its worked great.

Keeps on ticking

Review

Bought my truck used in 1997. Have had it for 6 years now and have put 140,000 since buying it. Has a total of 240000 miles on it. It doesn't look pretty now after all the abuse but the engine still purrrs like a kitten and keeps on ticking. The most dependable vehicle I have had yet.

Review

owned truck since 1995 and it has been very reliable with normal routine maintenance items. No significant repair required. Solid truck. 4 wheel drive handy in snow and for back country. A little underpowered for highway speeds going up hill, but great around town.

Review

This truck will not quit. I have abused it, pulled twice the recommended weight (tough to stop), cut a pair of Goodyears off the rim because I loaded wood over the cab... you name it I've done it with this truck. In the ten years I've owned it I have spent only $221 in repairs (one muffler and a rebuilt starter). It's basic, it will jar your teeth on bumpy asphalt but it will not die.

Can't Nissan come out with a truck that actually looks good...like the they have with the new Altima?

It has always started and run. It is good in snow or in warm weather. The heating system was not well designed. It is dependable.

Review

This is my fifth Nissan Truck and I have a total miles exceeding i million. It (they) has been reliable a form of transportation for over twelve years and it still is today.

Favorite Features

I am 6' 3' and weigh 230 lbs and the seats have been comfortable.

Suggested Improvements

The air conditionare got the bearing of the heater fan wet , so now the fan is noisy. Need better tie downs in the bed.
