2005 Nissan Titan King Cab 4dr King Cab SE FFV Rwd SB (5.6L 8cyl 5A)

Review

Bought my truck with 130k miles on it. Truck is extremely powerful and fun to drive. It even sounds great with the stock exhaust. I like the interior layout. The only complaints are that the interior feels kind of cheap, the front struts are blown, and the rear axle seals leak. The axle seals and the struts are known issues with the Titan and Nissan refuses to acknowledge them as issues even with the thousands of complaints. Luckily my friend is a mechanic and is going to fix the issues cheaply. The struts are $70 each and the seals are only $10. Aside from those two issues it's excellent as a truck. We love it.

Suggested Improvements

Fix the axle seal issue Install better shocks and struts Try to improve on the MPG if possible

Review

worst truck i have bought by far. 2nd owner of 73k miles. drove it about 5k miles before putting over $5,000 in repairs into it, first problem was my drive shaft came out of my rear axle and transfer case. new axle and transfer case rebuild.. then my ECM went out, it was a safety recall, but nissan refused to pay for damages and my recall. i will not recommend this truck to anyone. then i needed a whole new front suspension (ball joints, shocks and springs) cause they were old and bad. but that comes with age.

Favorite Features

plenty of horses to get you out of sticky situations. and high MPG isnt too bad.

Suggested Improvements

stop making titans.

Review

I'm not someone who bought this truck a month ago and is about to gush about it's reliability (what's with those reviewers anyway?) Purchased this truck 3.5 years ago, have put 50k KM mountain town driving on it. Only issue I've run in to is warping brake rotors, easily solved with HD brakes. The paint is nothing to phone home about, but definitely not sub par. Hauls a sled like it's not even there and shreds the highway between Whis and Van as fast as you'd ever want to. Expected a lot, and it has exceeded my expectations. Design/Layout are my favorite as well. 6'6" box is awesome, but cab is still very spacious and overall truck is very nimble. America still makes a great truck.

Favorite Features

HP and Torque are great, they're not monster numbers compared to something like a 1/2 tonne Tundra, but then the curb weight is far more reasonable as well. As far as a full size truck for adventures is concerned, I'm not sure there's one better.. if you don't want a full-size then maybe a Tacoma (if you have the $$) Truck layout/design is so well done. Huge cab space, huge bed space, and still a short wheel base, maneuverable, agile, and city friendly.

Suggested Improvements

Could be more fuel efficient.. but what truck couldn't? Paint could be slightly more bombproof. Wheel wells that accomodate a 35" tire without a lift or body work would be really nice. An engine bay that makes getting under the hood a little more feasible.. but that's a trade off for the cab space. If you're into performance, I've been really pleased with my magnaflow cat back. Nice little boost and killer sound.

Review

After 85,000 miles this truck still is going great. No major issues as of this writting, Can't understand why the truck commercials don't include TITAN.. guess they would make them laugh as this is one good truck. Though the style needs to be changed as they are getting a little dull in the looks, but still is a GREAT truck. No rattles, not one mechanical issue.

Favorite Features

Everything.

Suggested Improvements

Better brake rotors as they do have a tendency to warp a little, but this is no major issue at all.
