Nissan Sentra Real World MPG

  • Re: Bad gas milage 2010 sentra [ezeekz]

Written by: rphatton on Mar 28, 2013 10:32:32 PM

I also have recently purchased a 2012 Sentra with 19K. So far with 2000 miles I am averaging only 28mpg with most of the driving on open highway and suburban roads. Not too impressive with 140HP and a CVT. To get 34 mpg I would need a strong tail wind and a lot of down hill coasting. The steering also disappoints me as it is stiff and without a telescoping wheel ... Read More

Written by: ezeekz on Mar 14, 2013 11:08:00 PM

I have a 2010 Nissan Sentra 2.0s with 41,000. Was bought used with about 32,000. After driving it all this time I have noticed I get shitty gas milage. I drive about 172 miles at about 72-75mph and I hardly press on the brakes at all. It's a steady drive with my cruise control on and I use half a tank from point A to point B. That seems shitty to ... Read More

A 13 SL for under $17k...that's excellent! This car is a real nice looking vehicle and the interior is very classy. I just wonder how it drives because if it compares favorably to the Elantra, Nissan has a winner on it's hands. I've driven several new Elantra's and Foci the last few weeks and both drive very smoothly thought I still think the Focus is a tick behind in most categories...a ... Read More

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal, to get leather for $18K is pretty impressive. If you are willing to dig, there are some great deals out there. Anderson Nissan sold a 13 SL for $16,720 (price was reported at voiceofthedriver.com)

I'm in the process of getting quotes on this car in the NY tri-state area. Just started this afternoon, but so far (just 5 quotes with many more to go), I'm at slightly under invoice before the $500 Nissan financing incentive. I do not mind looking much further away. The last car I bought came from MD to NY. I only had to pay $250 and saved thousands compared to local ... Read More

  • 2012 Sentra SR w/ Special Edition Package

    Written by: miamifan1 on Jul 30, 2012 9:43:36 PM

My new CVT Sentra SR Special Edition: I traded in a Scion XB which had negative equity of $2,000. The MSRP was $20,300 for the Nissan. I paid OTD $18,500. This price includes the Scion negative equity and PA sales tax and tags/title/docs. It comes out to $16,000 for my $20,300 Sentra. And this is a deal my dealer offered me, without any haggling. When I went to another Nissan dealer ... Read More

The next Sentra has been unveiled, both in China as the new Sylphy, and in spy photos of the actual Sentra to be sold in the U.S. By photos and accounts it appears to be a down-sized Altima--not a bad thing! It loses the "edginess" of the current Sentra but I think has a more upscale appearance, more Infiniti-like. Looks like interior and trunk room have been improved also. The key ... Read More

I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra SR, I just purchased. It had seven miles on it. During initial start up and for a period of 2-3 min it has a loud whining/buzzing noise emitting from the engine compartment. It is noticeable from inside the cabin and outside. I thought it was a just a break in thing that would go away. However I have around 200 miles and the car still ... Read More

Yeah that's what I meant... so that I could get a good deal on 2012 model but the dealer said that by that time almost all of them will be sold out since they sell pretty fast (which of course he would since he's trying to make a sale). The price before the TTT and fees was $17,800.

That seems like a good price. What's the price before taxes and fees? By July, the all-new 2013 Sentra might be out. Is that what you mean by waiting for July, or would you be looking for a close-out deal on a 2012?

I totally forgot to mention the specs: heated leather seats, alloy wheels, sunroof, keyless entry... the only thing it doesn't have is a GPS/voice sync system that I could really use since I like to talk but I dont want to be holding my cellphone and talking while driving. The sync would've great to help me keep both my hands on the steering wheel.

30/38 for CVT, 27/36 for the manual, on the 2012 sedan according to the EPA. If the Versa does as well in real-world FE as my 2010 Sentra (with the CVT and a larger engine), I'd expect the Versa to easily get low-to-mid-40s mpg on the highway at 60 mph, which is in the sweet spot for most cars for high FE. My Sentra will top 40 mpg at 60 mph ... Read More

Personally, I'm very interested to see what the new Sentra and Corolla are going to be like...the Corolla really needs to be a super product or they'll have a problem. I did sit in the current Sentra, an SL model, and besides the poor dash layout, it was an extremely comfortable seat, much better than my current Civic. I sit on a support cushion from the Relax The Back store due ... Read More

I scratched my head over the 2005 Sentra and that whole generation because while it had some plusses, including fuel economy and a pretty nice interior, the back seat was REALLY tight--moreso than even the prior generation. Nissan rectified that in the current design. I've leased 3 Sentras--a 1992 2-door, a 1997 4-door (both sticks), and my current 2010. They were all solid, reliable little cars. I sold my 1997 to ... Interesting comparo between the interior of a Sentra and Cruz. From what I have read, the interior on the Cruz looks nice, but, materials and build quality are not so great. I have not been in one myself.... I would say the new Elantra and Focus have the best combination of build quality / materials available today. The new Focus is put together really, really well. The Mazda3 is well put ... Read More
