2003 Nissan Sentra GXE 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5M)

Review

The Sentra GXE offers great styling, and reliablity. The ABS/Side air bags are only availiable as an add-on package. Fuel economy is 29-32MPG, with about a 300-340 mile Range. We have had no issues with the 3 Sentras my Family owns (01SE,02GXE,03GXE). 180 Watt stereo in uplevel packages are a plus, so are alloy wheels. oh, and make sure you get a rear spoiler, it really improves the rear look of the car!

Favorite Features

Styling, Low cost, Reliability

Suggested Improvements

Offering ABS/Side airbags as standard equipment.

2003 Nissan Sentra 2.5 Limited Edition 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 4A)

Review

This car has real punch. I'm still amazed how quick this car is after nearly a month with it. The transmission does a good job of kicking down quickly too. Nice to get 4 wheel disc brakes, side airbags and abs in a car for $15.8K

Favorite Features

Drivetrain! Q-car stealth!

Suggested Improvements

Average interior materials could stand a little enhancement.

2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 6M)

Review

I bought the Spec V because I needed a 4-door car to transport the wife and kid, needed a low payment and good fuel economy, yet still wanted to autocross on the weekends. The Spec V does it all very nicely thank you. Room for the family and it also powers around the pylons like crazy. No complaints.

Favorite Features

Limited slip differential. Big brakes.

Suggested Improvements

6 gears is a few too many. The cars got so much torque I don't need to downshift very often.

2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 6M)

Review

THIS SENTRA SER SPEC V IS A FUN CAR TO DRIVE, WITH LOTS OF TORQUE AND PLENTY OF POWER. THERE IS NO TURBO LAG OR WAITING FOR THE VTEC MECHANISM TO KICK IN, PRETTY MUCH LIKE DRIVING A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE MUSTANG, IF THERE IS ONE. THE SUSPENSION SETTING IS FIRM BUT COMFORTABLE. FORTUNATELY, NISSAN HAS INSTALLED THE HELICAL LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL INTO THIS VEHICLE, OTHERWISE IT WOULD BE A REAL CHALLENGE TO DRIVE THIS LITTLE MONSTER IN RAIN OR SNOW. BODY STRUSTURE IS IMPRESSIVE, COMBINED WITH THAT PRIMITIVE REAR BEAM AXLE, IT HANDLES MUCH LIKE A GOLF GTI, WHICH IS NOT A BAD THING.

Favorite Features

THE POWERTRAIN IS THE GEM, IT REALLY EXCELLS. IT MAY NOT BE AS FAST OR AGILE AS A HONDA ON THE RACE TRACK, BUT THIS IS A FAR BETTER DAILY DRIVER THAN MOST OF THE COMPACT CARS BECAUSE IT GIVES YOU WHAT YOU REALLY NEED IN TRAFFIC, WHICH IS TORQUE AND PLENTY OF THEM.

Suggested Improvements

THE INTERIOR IS PLAIN AND THE SOUND SYSTEM DOESN'T COME WITH CD CHANGER. THE WEAKEST LINK OF THIS CAR IS THE NOTCHY 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION, I THINK NISSAN SHOULD LEARN A THING OR TWO FROM HONDA OR TOYOTA.

2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 4A)

Review

This car has more torque then any other NA 4 cyl new car. If you are looking for great gas milage I suggest a civic or a corolla, they are far superior to the GXE and XE. However if you want a quick car for very little money this is a very good choice. Especially if you are lazy like me and like automatic because no other auto in the price range offers this much power. This car just moves effortlessly. It handles great, its very fun to drive and its not bad looking. The engine sounds great too!! The 180 watt 7 speaker stereo is pretty decent too.

Favorite Features

ENGINE ENGINE ENGINE!!!!! Stereo is good even though I didn't get the 300 watt Rockford Fosgate. Handling. Nice steering wheel. Not very common to see on the road, makes you feel somewhat unique. Oh yeah the engine!!!

Suggested Improvements

Not such good mileage(23/28 and I've been getting 19). Engine is supposedly a bit trouble some. Has oil burning issues(don't know if mine does yet), makes some funny noises. Ride quality over bumpy roads is not very good and some of the interior feels cheap.

This car have amazing performance and stability. The power is great cruise right through the freeway at will. The stability is so great that you will barely feel any unlevel grounds on the road.

Sound proofing, did someone on the assembly line forget to check the sound proofing? It can be real dreadful with the poor sound proofing...

2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 5M)

Review

Stability and Performance is too amazing. I wouldn't ever thought of buying a sentra until after shopping around for cheap affordable car. I went to check out the civic and corolla, both extremely expensive both insurance and sticker price, and powerless. I purchase my car at 15600 before tax, for that price you can't get anything better. So before checking out a civic and corolla or any other car go test drive a SER sentra.

MUST improve sound proofing. Did someone in the assembly line forgot to check the sound proofing? The sound proofing is very dreadful on the highway.

2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 6M)

Review

Hands down, this is the best car for the money. Paid $16,395 out the door for a '03 SpecV w/ floor mats and microfilter. Great financing from Nissan. Each time I get out, I find myself looking back at it with pride. Why get an underpowered Celica or Civic, when you can get this beast at the same price?

Favorite Features

6-speed, all that torque that makes you go back in your seat when you hit the gas, all the standard features - power windows, locks, keyless entry, 4-wheel disc brakes, foglights, rear spoiler, etc.

Suggested Improvements

Would be nice if ABS was standard, but at this price, what more could one expect??

2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 4A)

Review

I traded my 96 Caprice LT1 for the SE- R about four months ago. The complaints I have is poor gas milage on the hwy, it's very close to the 96 Caprice with a V8 in it! The suspension keeps the car glued to the road and is smooth as long as the road is smooth. Driving over cracks and bumps in the road that's a completely different story. Lastly, the engine lacks power at higher (over 90mph) speeds. Overall the car is a blast to drive, comes fully loaded and the floor mats with the SE-R logo, 7 speaker sound system, rear heat and heated mirrors are included in the base price. This car would be sweet with rear wheel drive.

Favorite Features

The front of the vehicle looks hot. The interior is very nice with leather steering wheel and chrome door handles, looks more expensive than it is. Seats are very nice and hold the driver glued in place.

Suggested Improvements

There is no rear seat leg room and no light in the glove box! The rear heat was a nice idea but unfortunately it doesn't work very well, needs stronger blower fun. Also a bigger fuel tank would be nice.
