  Our 2003 was similar. Dealer suggested we replace the overdrive switch. We did and it made no difference. They then said the overdrive solenoid in the transmission was bad and recommended fixing that. We decided to get rid of the car. Each item costs $800 and there was no guarantee it would fix problem.   It's been almost three months since I bought my 2003 Sentra LE and the car has 2,300 miles now. About 80% was short trip city driving(My job is only 2.5 miles away). Should I get the oil changed now or wait till 3,750 miles? The manual says 3,750 miles or 3 months... I didn't know Nissan used a special break-in oil out of the factory.
