2002 Nissan Sentra Sedan GXE 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 5M)

Review

This is a fast, fun car to drive but I was unhappy to find that one dealer said a sensor was out causing the transmission to malfunction and then they replaced the sensor again because I didn't make it around the block without the check engine light coming on again. Two days later after the second fix it happened again. I took it to another dealer who correctly diagnosed it as the computer itself and replaced it under warranty. I hope the new computer will last longer than another 46,000 miles!

Best Features

I like the quick pick-up with acceleration. The stereo system is also very good.

Worst Features

The car needs a more comfortable back seat and definitely more legroom. A larger trunk would also be handy.

Review

Purchase this car new at $14000 with
auto-trans, spoiler, alloy wheel,
cruise control, fog lights, 180w + 7
speakers stereo, leather wheel. So
far, I never had any problems until
the ECU recall. Nissan dealer did the
recall service, after that I had
replace the Oxygen senser under
warranty. Later Nissan replace the
entire on-board computer. I think they
short-out my chip while they fix the
ECU recall. The car runs great. After
40k, the car still run like a new car.
The paint still shine even I park the
car outside all the time. I am 6-3
still fit into the driver seat nicely.
I gived this car to my girlfriend. She
really like the shape and the handling.

Best Features

The upgrade stereo is very nice. Spoiler and alloy wheel make it look very sporty. It is $2500 cheaper compare with corolla and civic since the Nissan give big rebate. I would get the 2.5S if it was avaiable at 02. The ride is sniff compare corolla and civic, but it is more soft now.

Worst Features

I think the material for the car can be better. More rear leg room and longer wheelbase.

Review

I have owned several Nissan vehicles
(Maxima, 2 Sentra's) and love them.
They are definitely built to last long
miles. The only problem with my
current Sentra is with a clutch plate.
I have had it replaced once (under
warranty), and it has gone bad again.
I need to take it in to the dealer
again for repair.

Best Features

Great gas mileage! Also love the maneuverability.

Its a great car for one person. or
maybee two. I took it on a 3000 mile
trip and it was fine. I also took for
friends on a weekend trip for 600
miles and it was a bit small. Great
car.

Review

I have always liked this car, not for
it's exterior looks, but for the
interior design, the comfort of the
drivers seat, and all the cool little
features that come along with the
car. I have never liked the dorky way
the car looks. Of course, I am used
to mid-sized coupes and big trucks.
But it holds its own, for sure. When
called upon, the 126 horses wake up
and pull the car forward with a
surprising aggression. Great for
highway driving. I don't like the way
the plastic interior scratches so
easily, and the door mouldings tend to
fall off if you look at them funny.
Build quality is poor, as far as I am
concerned.

Best Features

The best feature of this silly car is the remote trunk release. I can't stop...pushing..the...button! The CD system is good, and I really do like the interior looks of this car. Everything seems to fit together nicely.

Worst Features

A company that builds the amazing 350Z, the stellar maxima, and even the beautiful altima, should be able to assemble something better than the sentra, one would hope. I mean, just because it's an entry level car, does not mean they need to build it like one.
