  • What's New for 1991

The Nissan Sentra is totally redesigned for 1991. Edges are smoothed out and corners are rounded, giving the '91 Sentra a more substantial feel. A racy SE-R is introduced with an outstanding little 140-horsepower engine. All other Sentras get a 110-horsepower engine that is about average for this class. A four-speed automatic transmission is available on all Sentras but the SE-R.

Owned the vehicle since '91. Always performed required regular maint. Only replaced two fuel injectors, starter, fuel pump, belts, hoses. Nothing out of the ordinary and still get 30 mpg overall. Great job Nissan...

I love this little car. Sure it's underpowered. Sure it's old. But it goes.

The little car that could

This car has been great. I've only had a few minor problems with it. The antilock brake light comes on and stays on due to a abs speed sensor circuit, the gas gauge does not read accurately, the trunk leaks, and the power windows stick. Other than that, it has been a great car. It keeps going and going and going.

Very reliable

Vehicle: 1991 Nissan Sentra GXE 4dr Sedan

Bought the 1991 car used in 1996. It's been very reliable, no major repairs, and great fuel economy. I did have to have the CV boots replaced a couple of times. It's 2002 now, and it's still purring beautifully. This is a car that's very economical: low insurance, low gasoline usage, few repairs.
