AWD Performance Poor
By sarah on
2009 Nissan Rogue SL 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl CVT)
My purchase was in the spring so in trusting my dealership to be honest with me as a loyal customer they badly misrepresented the performance of the AWD feature on the Rogue, I feel it is a high priced enhanced traction control and as far as AWD in the snow its awful! thanks Ken Ganley Nissan. the AWD engages maybe for a split second if that and you still slide all over the road, live and learn that sales people only care about the almighty $$ not you as a loyal customer. If you want good, safe performance in the snow get a AWD vehicle that engages and stays engaged in AWD/ 4x4.It was new to me so an expensive lesson!
my main purchase feature was the AWD that failed! good on gas nice looking,no mechanical problems over 20,000 miles on vehicle, would recommend the Front wheel drive to save money
represent it better to consumers AWD on the Rogue is nothing more than a costly enhanced traction control.. build it more solid ,have a rattle under it when I hit bumps
Just some advice...Learn how to use the AWD? Maybe read your manual that came with the car? As a long time Nissan AWD driver and top end Nissan owner (Infiniti) The AWD system is one of the best in the world..For those who want a 4X4 which sounds like you do instead of a intelligent AWD system.Maybe get a jeep?
First you need to understand it is 100% AWD meaning the car has independent wheel turn of other wheels for those with
a lesser thought process..This means all your wheels turn @ a different rate instead all 4 at the same time. The Nissan/Infiniti AWD will turn when there is traction. The rogue comes with a AWD lock that "LOCKS" the AWD to 50%Front and 50% rear up top 26MPH...Reason for this to allow you to move out of stuck areas when you need that 50/50..I live in New England and the snow is the worse here then any other part of the country (besides Alaska) and We have never had a problem...As for your 4X4 comment the Rogue isn't a 4X4 but AWD...Stop being a sheep and do some research and before you post fallacies take a moment and realize your wrong.
