    Do not pay them anything. Why would you pay the dealer to tell you what they and you already know. There is even a recall! They tried to do the same to me. I sent a certified letter to the CEO of Nissan in America, Mr. Carlos Gosh and I received a call immediately and the issue was resolved.

    Do not worry. I had the same problem with a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder LE. There is a recall for that part, but only applies to the 2006 Nissan Pathfinders. Go to your parts department and find out if the part for your Rogue is the same one as the one for the 2006 Pathfinder.     That is perplexing. You don't have the OD turned off do you? Or does yours have that feature? Even that should not account for the drop you're seeing. Maybe the difference in fuel (are you running 10% ethanol?), but again, you should not see that big of a reduction.     Bad News. Say good bye to your CVT transmission. Get it into the dealer. My guess is the CVT oil pump is going out. Had the exact same symptoms with my Murano. Hopefully it is still under warranty. Best of luck.

    It is happening with my 2005 Pathfinder. I am telling everyone with this problem to call and then send a certified letter to Nissan, since I cannot believe that Nissan should continue ussing these faulty gas gauges in their cars. I bought a Nissan for it quality. If I would have known that it's components only work for 40,000 miles, I would have bought a Dodge or Chevy!

    Sorry to hrar about your transmission problems. I had bought a brand new Toyota Rav 4 in April of 2007. In 6 months I had 3 transmissions replaced. They ended up doing a Lemon Law buyback and in November of 2008 I bought my Rogue. (Knock on wood) I havn't had any problems but know this, I did buy the Gold + extended warranty.

    I have a 2008 Nissan Rogue SL base model FWD bought in November 2007. I work out of my Rogue and now have 32000 miles on the vehicle and have had no problems at all. I also read another forum on the Rogue. From what I understand the transmission problem only afects the all wheel drive version (AWD) of the Rogue and not the front wheel drive (FWD) version.

    2 times back to the dealership on our 2008 Rogue for transmission problems. When you slow down the tranny downshifts very hard and surges forward. Both times they just reset the computer which fixes it for about 1-2 months and then it starts again. We are also having the noises at slow speeds (parking lots) problems as well. It goes back this week and they are buying it back.

    I have spoke to Nissan Regional Specialist and have been told the same thing; that since the dealers cannot duplicate my issue I am pretty much out of luck.     I have the same issue with my 2008 Rogue, I'll be bringing mine in for check up next month. By reading all the previous Nissan Altima with the CVT engine forums as people are suggesting the problem might be caused by the Heat Shield. Please let know if you also have more info.
