How does it look like? and did you check the dirty oil that you drain out of the oil tank? When we found out that we were expecting our first baby, we upgraded to a 2005 Nissan Murano in 2008, then realized, that we didn't need an SUV so down sized I guess to a ... Read More

  • Re: idling Villager [adambrunetx2e]

The problem seemed to be the dirty throttle body, especially the edge of throttle plate. (see this http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/idleproblems.html#toolow ). The solution is just simply clean it, just a few easy steps. (see this http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.ee93b52/1443#MSG1443 ) The root cause seemed to be "overfill the engine oil" and cold time oil gets thicker, harder to startup, and when you see "blue smoke" that means oil leak to and burn by engine. Nissan has a long history of engineering and manufacturing Constant Variable Transmissions (CVT) for their vehicles. I believe the early to mid '90s is when they first started using them in their vehicles outside of the US. It appears every single US-market Nissan model (except US-made trucks and SUVs) comes solely with, or has an option for, a CVT transmission. Durability-wise, I think the CVT has proven itself in the Murano, ... Read More

We just bought a Quest SE with DVD last week. MSRP was 39,345 and we bought it for 26151 plus TTL (27.5k OTD) and $349 processing fee. They did not sell us anything on top of that so it was pretty quick. We were in and out in an hour. Want one with Navigation but they don't have any in stock. First oil change is free. I just closed a deal on a 2008 Quest SE with Panasonic DVD package. The MSRP was $39,345. My price was $28,495 plus local sales taxes OTD. I was shocked that the dealer did not even try to sell me any LoJack or Auto Start or extended warranty. I would not have bought them anyway. You do not have to go through the dealer's finance deal, as required by law (at least in California.) However, you can push the dealer to match the deals at other banks if you have good enough credit, I guess. In a way, I think a fully loaded SE @ $30,500 is not bad, but I know I could have pushed for more! :)

If you use the Nissan 1.9% financing, you cannot get the rebate. The $3500 rebate is supposed to end on 9-2-08, but it probably will be extended. There is an additional $5000 dealer incentive that Nissan is paying dealers, but the dealers are passing on to their customers (many, not all), that is supposed to end on the 31st. If you read on Fatwallet, many people are getting the SE for ... Read More
