The Pathfinder offers excellent acceleration from V8-powered styles. Other styles still offer average straight-line performance. Handling is marginally below average for the class but braking distances are respectably short.
The Pathfinder's taut ride provides more responsiveness than many other SUVs this tall while still maintaining reasonable comfort and safety. This truck-based SUV rides well for a truck but isn't on par with its car-based competition. The upside is better off-road performance. Front seats are somewhat flat. Second and third rows are too small for large adults.
Second and third rows fold completely flat offering a large cargo area. Dual-zone climate control and navigation system offer simple operation typical of Nissan's latest designs. There are plenty of secondary control buttons but overall control functionality is still good.
With a very usable overall design the Pathfinder offers average material and assembly quality. Weve witnessed inconsistent fit and finish from Pathfinders in the past, but this new model seems to be a step up.
Family Friendly
First and foremost the Pathfinder is a family mover with three-row flexibility.
Off-Road Ready
The Pathfinder is above average in the class when it comes to off-roading.
Towing Capable
A 7,000-pound towing capacity (in V8 styles) makes the Pathfinder worth considering if you need to tow.
