I love the ride.Gets up and goes I got it at a local dealership I paid 14000 friend discount it had 40000 when i got it now im running on 70000 and it still runs strong.I have the problems like everyone.DTE,Check engine light, and the tire light just came on yesterday. All this just started happening this year.Nothing wrong with my tires just need new ones can easyly reset by pulling off the negitve wire from the battery(black one)and if u got ur Nissan used can check if the previous owner took it in for the recall fuel if not u can still get it replaced. It will clear out the DTE and no more check engine light.Living here in hawaii I surf and tow jet skis and boats its like the energizer bunny

After 6 years of truoble-free service pulling a 21 ft Boston Whaler (occassionally) I recently had the fuel gauge problem. The dealer notified me of the extended warranty for this issue but that it has expired a day earlier! What? I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and after some back and forth with the dealer they approved the repair under warranty. Nissan even will reimburse the $99.00 "diagnosis" fee from the dealer. I was also informed of the extended warranty for the transmission/coolant issue until 6/2014 or 80,000 miles. So far, no problems with that.
The vehicle sits outside all the time in FL. No problems with the exterior or interior. Still have the OEM tires.
Body-on-frame architecture. Most current SUV of this size (including Pathfinder) are going to flimsy uni-body construction.
When your extended tranny warranty expires on your current Pathfinder, or if it has, and you still don't have any problems, get en external tranny cooler and seal the factory system forever. You can get this done for less than $80.00. Check B & M Tranny coolers or Derale Series 8000 Plate Fin cooler.
2006 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4dr SUV 4WD (4.0L 6cyl 5A)
Have had no major problems in the first 3yrs of ownership. Just recently, the SES alert came on. Diagnostics indicated fuel system issue. Online research has shown this is a known issue, but no help from Nissan, so I'm somewhat concerned about that. Mileage is average; decreases exponentially with aggressiveness of driving; haha. Overall, the feel of the ride was a HUGE improvement from earlier model. Cargo bay is very useful and seat conversion is very easy. It's not a roomy vehicle, but anyone who tries before buys should know that and not complain if they take it. Overall, I'm very satisfied
Sound system, Zone A/C system, Seat conversion, Lots of storage nooks
Would have liked to have a push-button to turn off A/C rather than having to hold a spring-dial control; Would be nice to have a single push-button device to close all windows at once, including sun-roof.
2006 Nissan Pathfinder SE Off-Road 4dr SUV 4WD (4.0L 6cyl 5A)
This car is "good" in a lot of different ways. Suspension is soft for off-roading, but skid plates, and ranchos serve it well. Highway ride is GREAT, very smooth and quite, long wheel base helps with that. Only complaint is the seats! I'm 6'4'' and I don't fit comfortably, seats could be more supportive. Rear seating is cramped but storage capacity is great. No reliability issues whatsoever yet Yes, the throttle IS touchy, but if you know how to drive a car, this shouldn't be a problem! Interior ergonomics are above average, plastics could be little bit more scratch resistant (have to be careful when cleaning). Can avg 21 mpg if you drive it at 65.
With the exception of seat comfort in all 3 rows, the ergonomics are great. Acceleration is very good, storage capacity is great. BOSE is great.
Higher quality plastics that don't scratch so easily, more comfortable seats.
