Hi. I see your message is from 2010. After you fixed the truck, did the problem ever happen again? Also, would you happen to know if replacing the trans is absolutely necessary or is rebuilding it enough? Thank you
I am not sure the case is actually complete. The last status I received was that the Judge had not signed. (That was a week and a half ago.) There was a formal objection by a third party not related to the actual case, but requires the Judge to weigh the objection. The real problem is that there is already litigation settled (prior precedent) that a drive train that lasts 100K ... Read More
How do I join n this lawsuit. I also have 2006 Nissan Pathfinder SE with this intermix problem.
I bought a new Nissan Pathfinder in 2006. Nissan has had the reputation of building quality products in the past, and that was a huge factor in my decision. At about 55,000 miles, my fuel gauge stopped working and the check engine light came on. I researched the problem and found that this is a common problem. Nissan had issued either a warranty extension or some sort of recall, but never ... Read More

Recently received the extended warranty information from Nissan for my 2006 Xterra with 81,000 miles. I had not had any problems and my coolant was the normal color, but I did not want to have the problem. I recently test drove a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder SE Off Road that had a reduced price (below market value, which was kind of a warning) from a local dealer in Centennial Colorado. The best way to prevent this from happening is to simply replace the radiator. You should be able to do that for less than $300. But, if you have less than 80000 miles on the truck, and you replace it with an aftermarket radiator, you'll void that warranty. You might want to save the old radiator in case Nissan has to fix this problem for their owners. Directions to have your ... Read More

My Pathfinder in a 2006 that was manufactured in 10/05. My problems started at about 76,000 miles. My truck was out of warranty with the exception of the catalytic converter which has a manufacture warranty until 80,000 miles. My suggestion to all is to go and get an extended warranty before it is too late. Nissan really needs to do a recall !!!! This is getting expensive and out of control ... Read More
Just bought our 2006 Pathfinder in Nov. 09, had 120,000 miles on it. Purchased privately. The guy kept it meticulous, all maintainance records. High miles due to his employment. Well- @127,000 miles a rumble starts to occur around 40-45 mph, also notices rumbles mostly in overdrive when torque converter locks in and when unlocks. I started to notice this about a month ago. My wife drives it 99% of time. Well ... Read More
Call Nissan North America and be forceful. Forget the mileage. It's their error. The coolant leaks through the trans cooler into the tran. And the trans fluid follows the reverse path to the radiator. Repairs can run between $5000 and 7000 without Nissan's intervention. I just contacted one of the local Tv stations' News Dept. and told them about the problem and thatn there should be a recall. Here's the e-mail. ... Read More
Congratulations !!! That is amazing....I spoke to a number of people at Nissan NA and I got no where. I can not even get them to fix my fuel gauge that was recalled on most not all 2006 Pathfinders and mine was broken. I decided to invest in an extended warranty for 24 months or 24,000 for $2500. I will continue to drive my truck until tranny competely gives up. When ... Read More
Recently, our 2006 Pathfinder SE 4x4 starting shuttering or vibrating in the rear. We took it to a local mechanic and he said the transmission was ok and the 4x4. That the problem was the ECU (brain) and we needed to take it to a dealer. We have 80,000 miles on our vehicle. Yesterday, we took it to the dealer and they called back and said that we needed a new ... Read More
:( I have a 2006 Pathfinder with 78,500 mile and I too have the vibration or what they call a shutter in the rear. My gas gauge has been broken for 6 months and I am not part of the recall. Today another dealer replaced my catalytic converter which is covered under the manufacture warranty for 80,000 miles. As for the vibration the first shop said they only thing they could ... I don't know what else to do. My problem is that I purchase the vehicle from a non Nissan Dealer and now I have this problem. I wish there was a recall on this problem ASAP. I cant even call it a Lemon Law, because thats for cars 2006 and over.
How did it work out? Just added my post to this mess, 2006 Pathfinder- had to replace radiator for $1500- crossing my fingers that tranny isn't shot, too. Did Nissan do anything to compensate?
Just got my 2006 Pathfinder back from the mechanic, transmission fluid ended up in the radiator and vs. versa. It looked like chocolate milk. It cost me $1,500.00 and the shop isn't positive that the transmission is ok. The mechanic contacted a local dealer looking for a new radiator and heard from them this has been a common problem....I will contact and complain to the sources listed, but has anyone heard ...
