Problem shifting 2005 PF from 4WD to 2WD

Has anyone experienced this problem? On Thanksgiving Day, my wife and I were driving on a back road in Pennsylvania when we encountered snow & ice. I took delivery of my new 2005 LE (DVD & Navi) tonight. To replace my Pathfinder 2003 LE I was torn between the 4Runner and the Pathfinder. The 4Runner might have an edge on the Pathfinder (or so says most reviews) but the Pathfinder represents a terrific value. The price was good and I got a terrific package for the price. for the past few weeks when i go to start my car after it has been cooled off for more then a few hours, it will take a few seconds for it to start. it makes a whistling noise and then starts. almost like when you start the car in the winter on a really cold day. You are right pathstar,   Keys have unique RFID and must be accepted into anti-theft system. I tried the program sequence with the dealer over the phone once and it was tricky. Almost got it to work. I have the same problem with the CD player in my 2003 Pathfinder. It is the Clarion (Bose) 6 disc in-dash player. I had it replaced and the replacement is already skipping. My Nissan dealer told me that this is a chronic problem with these CD players. However, I spoke to Nissan and they do not yet admit the problem (nor have they issued a recall). I purchased an 05 LE in December and now have 3,500 miles on it. I don't know how else to do this, so I'll list my pos and neg impressions on the experience thus far. Overall, positive. BOSE STEREO EXPERIENCES After reading the last page of posts I thought I would relate my thoughts on this stereo. Every morning on my drive to work my CD (six-disc)player skips for the first 20 minutes. I cannot tell you how high this raises my blood pressure - it is a 2003 Pathfinder and has been this way from day one. After the first 20 minutes or so it is fine - go figure. ... Read More...
