Nissan Pathfinder Real World MPG

Re: Nissan Pathfinder Owners: MPG-Real World Numbers [paisan]

These are the closing comments on the review of the 05 Pathfinder, and below the 03 4runner, by Edmunds.com 05 PATHFINDERAfter a week with a 2005 Pathfinder SE 4x4, we can't deny the wide-ranging capabilities of this SUV. It's certainly quick and it can haul kids and cargo with the best of 'em. But it sacrifices the surefooted handling and braking of the old Pathfinder ... Read More...

Nissan Pathfinder Lease Questions

2007 Pathfinder LE 4WD, New Jersey

Hello, my wife and I have just gotten serious about a 2007 Pathfinder LE 4WD lease. On the initial visit to the local Nissan dealership yesterday, they quoted me $469/mo. for a 39-month lease, including a trade-in of a 2003 Ford Explorer worth around $6300 ($12235 Edmund's trade-in minus around $5900 loan payoff). They didn't want to provide any details as to ... Read More...

Nissan Pathfinder Maintenance and Repair

Re: 2003 Nissan Pathfinder [robert52]

Just a tip about your wife's daily commute- A 1/2-mile trip doesn't give the engine enough time to come up to operating temperature. There are very good chances that this type of use will lead to shorter engine life. Cold starts ("cold" = less than 150°F coolant temp) are actually when the most engine wear occurs. At the very least, try to drive the vehicle at least ... Read More...

Re: 2003 Nissan Pathfinder [robert52]

I have filed lemon law on my 03 pathfinder. The most recent repair was the new engine, and the timing control valves (3rd time). I love the car, has a very nice ride, but way too many problems. Talk to a few more people before the purchase. Good Luck! Read More...

Re: 2003 Nissan Pathfinder [robert52]

I just sold my 2001 PF LE in June of 2006. Although, I miss the Pathfinder and really liked it alot, I don't miss the poor gas mileage it received. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably purchase a more fuel efficient SUV/CUV. With these current gas prices that sadly are most likely here to stay, there are better choice IMO. Currently, I'm driving my other vehicle ... Read More...

Re: 2003 Nissan Pathfinder [robert52]

Like Pathstar, I have an '01 which is very similar to the '03 model year. Mine has 105K miles on it, and it drives like new. While it has not been perfect, if I had perfect foresight as to the repairs I would still buy it again. Problem areas are: 1) the O2 sensors as Pathstar mentioned, 2) the intake timing sensors (there are two) which seem to last 40-70K miles (cost ... Read More...

Re: 2003 Nissan Pathfinder [robert52]

I have a 2001 - basically the same as the 2003. Have had no problems with the vehicle, other than O2 sensors early on. It's a large heavy SUV, but considering that, it gets pretty good mileage. I'm happy with the purchase, and given what I wanted when I purchased it, if those conditions existed now, I'd buy it again. Read More...

2003 Nissan Pathfinder

Getting ready to purchase a 2003 Pathfinder with 37,000 miles. Having looked through some of the posts here, I have to admit I am having second thoughts. The dealer did have to do a repair kit on the catalytic converter as the vehicle sounded like it had a hole in the muffler. They indicated this had been a problem with this year. My wife only drives about 1/2 mile to ... Read More...

2005 Pathfinder Front End Vibration Problem

I have a 2005 SE, with 25,000 miles on it (about 45,000 KM), I've had it for 20 months. When driving on the highway and I hit 75 mph (120 km/hr) it suddenly feels like the front end of the truck is driving on winter tires (studded tires). When I hit 85 mph (about 140 km/hr) it feels like I'm driving on loose gravel - the vibration is that bad. This is on dry, smooth, newly ... Read More...
