The Pathfinder rides like a car. I absolutely love it. The BOSE stereo sounds great. It's got plenty of pick up and looks good on the road. The automatic controls on the steering wheel for cruise and for the stereo are easy to use and conveniently located. By far the best car I've ever owned.
Favorite Features
V6 engine. BOSE stereo. Automatic everything.

Edmund's is wrong about it being difficult to fold the rear seats. I don't know who attempted it, but they didn't try hard enough. A 2-year-old could do it. The paint on the bumpers comes off slightly when road debree hits them.

Since the deals are so good out there right now, I looked into buying a new SUV to replace my 1996 Ford Explorer. I test drove the Highlander, Explorer, Tribute, 4 Runner and Xterra before deciding on the 2003 Pathfinder. This vehicle isn't perfect, but it's a very nice combination of reliability, price, styling, handling and features. It rode better than any vehicle except perhaps the Highlander, but I found it more comfortable (no captain's chair's arms) and with many more small nice features such as lighted vanity mirrors, fog lights, compass and opening rear window. My model is loaded, mainly due to the Nissan packages required to get side airbags.
Favorite Features
Excellent handling, ride and engine power; Dual sun visors; Auto 4WD; One touch up and down front windows & sunroof; Seat comfort; Climate control; Memory & heated seats; Good headlights and dash lights; Numerous cupholders and cubbie holes
Suggested Improvements
Illuminate steering wheel audio/cruise controls; Needs an inch or two more front/rear leg room and front head room, especially with the sunroof; Gas mileage lower than average SUV; More diverse package options (had to take audio, sunroof and leather packages to get side airbags)
Awesome SUV with power

This is my 3rd pathfinder. Drove the first pathfinder available in Ohio when they first came out. Purchased a second. I was not happy with the design about 5 years ago. Decided on a durango. BIG MISTAKE. The pathfinder is a great vehicle. Smooth, tons of power, very sharp. I get tons of compliments. I love to throw the keys to others to take for a test drive. They all come back smiling!!

Why buy the Infiniti QX4?

So my toddler is bleeding from the head and we are on the way to the emergency room in my bronze Nissan Pathfinder. As we pass a silver Infiniti QX4 he points out of the window and says "Daddy's car." Now if even a concussed two year old can see through the exterior shiny trim of a QX4 that hides the Pathfinder beneath, where's the snob value in buying the Infiniti? Buy a Pathfinder and save yourself $5,000. By the way, he's fine...

Not Everyone Needs Third-Row Seating!!!
Vehicle
2003 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4WD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I was shopping for a 4Runner, but couldn't justify $6,000 more for the same features. This SUV rides like a Maxima and the 240 hp. V6 runs very smooth. I have already put 4,500 miles on it in 4 weeks and so far I am very pleased. I also don't understand the complaints about the rear seats. I put mine up and down on a daily basis..Very EasY!! If you are like me and want a true 'midsize' SUV, than the Pathfinder is a great deal. Remember, not everyone needs a third- row of seats!!
Favorite Features
240 hp., 6-Disc In Dash CD changer, Sunroof..

Gas Mileage (they advertise 15-18 and I am averaging 14), Factory Roof Rack not very compatible, Less Wind Noise from closed sunroof, Power Outlets that work when the car is off....All minor compared to the ride of this SUV!!
