Love my Pathfinder
Vehicle
2002 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4WD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 5M)
Review
I inherited my car from my sister in 2003 and it has been the best vehicle I have ever had. It has 150000 miles now and you can't even tell. We handle typhoon like rains here in Northern CA. I've driven it through the snow without hesitation. This car is so reliable. My mechanic and a couple guys at the oil change shop have said they'll buy it anytime I'm ready to sell. The only major problem I've had is the bushing pin went out right when I took over from my sister - I figured it was because she didn't know how to drive a manual transmission. No problems ever since. If they sold this model again I would buy it. When this one dies I'm buying the latest version of a Pathfinder.
Favorite Features
Hwy mileage is 20-21/mpg at 65-70 mph. What other SUV can say that. Sleek design gets attention. My CD changer also ate some CD's. I don't care - now I have an IPOD with a BOSE system - AMAZING sound.

Owned Pathfinder for 1.5 years. Been 100% reliable, just regular maintenance. Gas mileage kinda stinks but you know before you purchase. Engine has loads of speed and torque. Truck has 58k on an 02 model, hopefully last and last... would recommend to a friend , in fact i have he bought a 2008 black se beautiful upgrades!!
Favorite Features
Power, Reliability, Cargo, Exterior, Options, Thing flies for a SUV! It's the Maxima Motor stuffed into a heavy suv.
Suggested Improvements
Bose 6 disc cd player is horrific!! what a piece! i love the steering wheels radio controls, but cd's skip all the time, can't live with it! Gas mileage, spare tire location, should be on back of trunk door

7 years and still going
Vehicle
2002 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4WD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 5M)
Review
Bought new in 02. Have had to put very little money in it even with 125000+ miles. Drove it like I stole it in NC Beaches, Western MD Snow, and torrential downpouring T storms. This thing can handle the abuse. Well worth the money and can't see trading it in anytime soon. CD Changer is temperamental, has some CDs hostage now, but overall I can't complain.
Favorite Features
awesome 4wd for sand, ruts, snow, etc. Fold flat seats.
Suggested Improvements
none. This was the best thing out there in 2002. If they brought this model back, I would buy it again today. Hands down better than any newer real SUV my friends have now.

I love IT

2002 Nissan Pathfinder LE 2WD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I bought my Nissan a few month ago and I would have to say there is nothing about that disappoints me. I live in Great Falls Montana. It has been below zero temperatures. There is not a block heater on my Nissan and yet it has started every time.
Favorite Features
Heated leather seats, sun roof.

Good SUV
Vehicle
2002 Nissan Pathfinder SE 2WD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I bought The Pathfinder because it was praised on here, and I'm glad I did. It drives well, runs quiet, and hasn't given me major problems yet. I bought mine with 134,000 miles on it, but they are mostly highway miles. She gets around 15-16 MPG, but I'm trying to get her to around 20 or so. Probably going to add a K&N cold air intake soon. Changing your own oil can be kinda a drag too, being that the oil filter is underneath the semi-skid plate.
Favorite Features
Powerful engine, comfortable on long trips, stereo is nice.
Suggested Improvements
Nissan has O2 sensor issues, but I'm sure they fixed them by now. Steering wheel sometimes comes off in my hand, leaving a gooey gunk on my hands.

Great rig

2002 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4WD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 5M)
Review
Bought this new and thought it was fine. After 6 years of only doing minimal maintenance, this thing rocks. With limited slip diff and old fashioned 4x4 (which I prefer), this thing can plow thru any snow and even does better than most others trucks/SUVs in icy conditions. Just get some good aggressive tires for offroading or deep snow.
Favorite Features
Old school 4x4 gives great traction in bad snow.
Suggested Improvements
The CD player is the worst! It skips like crazy. Also needs more suspension travel length in rear. It hits the stops to soon.

Great SUV
Vehicle
2002 Nissan Pathfinder LE 4WD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I have taken this car to sand/dirt roads were there was many pot holes, ruts, and 1-2 ft tall long bumps and it handles very well when rallying! In the rain it handles great with good tires. Handles well at 108 mph. I strongly recommend this SUV. Now for gas mileage I get about 16-18 mpg. Fun car to drive especially on long drives. If you by this car don't be afraid to give it gas!!!
Favorite Features
Love the power especially when doing a U turn at full throttle. Going fast around corners. The interior.
Suggested Improvements
The stereo tweeters hardly work. Minimal electrical wiring such as the driver side electric seat, the speedometer also hardly work. The sunroof jammed.

Sweet Ride!
Vehicle
2002 Nissan Pathfinder LE 4WD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I bought this pathfinder for my wife. She had never seen it or driven it. I fell in love with it when I took for a test drive. So she trusted me and now I'll never get to drive it again! She loves it. It's powerful, comfortable, stable. It's very luxurious inside and looks tuff on the outside. The front seats are very soft and comfortable. Great driver comfort when it comes to radio controls on the steering wheel and everything is easy to reach on the dash. Love the Bose stereo and the sun roof. Very good buy for the money.
Favorite Features
Power, 4WD, sun roof, interior and exterior styling, fun to drive.
Suggested Improvements
Fuel economy, 02 sensor issues. Tow package.

Love my Pathfinder
Vehicle
2002 Nissan Pathfinder LE 4WD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Handles well on-road and off. Wide profile not the best in snow, but decent with good tires. Very comfortable, and most importantly, eminently reliable in over 85,000 miles. Of course, gas mileage is pretty poor, but I think I will keep it as a second car for camping, trips, etc., even when I look into a more economical daily driver.
Favorite Features
4x4 system, ergonomics are very car-like, and drives sufficiently car-like for easy long trips.
Suggested Improvements
Fix rear bump-stops to ease the ride for rear passengers, a higher gear in overdrive would have helped fuel economy on the highway considerably.

Solid Truck for the Money
Vehicle
2002 Nissan Pathfinder LE 4WD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Purchased in 6/04 with 20K for half of original sticker. Fully loaded with every option besides navigation. Have been pleased with the overall performance, very reliable. Gas mileage is terrible like most SUVs. Styling is great, fit and finish has held up nicely. Back seat is not the best for entry or overall room. Some scratches on fender flares from automatic car wash. Only issues: drivers power seat broke around 40K, they wanted $600 for repair. 2 oxygen sensors replaced and tailpipe joint cracked. Had sleeved at meineke for $25. Original bridgestones wear quickly, replaced with Pirelli scorpions.
Favorite Features
Heated seats, Bose 6 CD system, great in winter weather with one touch 4WD.
Suggested Improvements
Better gas mileage, larger door opening for rear seats.
