This is what I did: I went to a good welder. He removed the seat and welded the broken part and put the seat back in. Probably better than new. It was 165.00.....a whole lot better than 1500.00!! Now I am having problems with the power steering and an oil leak. I will never never buy another Nissan. The Nissan dealership has been absolutely no help at all....disgusted!!
Consider yourself lucky, I just got a quote from my local Nissan dealer for >>$2100 to replace the seat (mechanism) the bottom part , not the actual leather seat. The car is a 2003 with 131,000, and I will ride on a milk crate before I spend that !!!!
My 2006 murano had about 30,000 miles on it when the motor that makes the driver's seat go forward and back broke, leaving the seat as far from the pedals as it can go. I found a lot of helpful info here, and just wanted to share, in case anyone is keeping track of this issue! I have tried for a year to get Nissan to pay for at least half ... Read More

Just joined the broken seat club on my 2006 Murano 119,400 miles on it. Wow, talk about a major surprise. I filed my complaint with Nissan today and we will see what happens. I am so mad..I hate Nissan. I have a 2006 Murano at 120,000 miles. My transmission is gone. I called the dealership on Monday May 2nd and they couldn't get me in until May 7th. I had the seat fixed by removing it, which was a very simple process, then my brother and his friend welded the broken bracket. Very simple fix and beats paying the dealer $1000. Next my radio started making noise, a separate issue and I took that to Jeff's Pro Audio here in PHOENIX, and they saudered a wire that came loose, that was $124 to fix the sound and they implied ... Hi Cali22 - Who did you contact at Nissan about this issue? Our 2006 Murano seat just failed and I certainly think it's worth a try. Glad to see someone is having luck convincing Corporate that this is a serious design flaw that needs fixing. Thanks!
After owning the car for just over a year, this comes along. Dealer wants $1000.00 to replace poorly designed metal bracket, towards the rear of the seat. Waiting for Nissan to give me some good news on fixing the problem. Dealer also advised me, that both A arm bushings, and struts need to be replaced as well. Grand total $2900.00!! This car has 80,000 miles on it. Can't wait to see ... Read More
I have an 03 Murano, been a pretty reliable car since I bought it back in 2006 from a Nissan dealer in South Florida. I have approximately 130,000 miles on it. I have the FWD version and NO problems with 62k miles. Love it - I just change the oil. Brakes even lasted 60k miles, tires 50k. Nissan service at Robbins in Humble, TX is 1st class. Hi my name is Pedro and i own a nissan murano 2005 and i bought the LED taillights 2006 and i wanted to know if i can put the 2006 tailights LED to the 2005 murano
At 16,000 miles my driver’s power seat was replaced because of the following. Left side stops & right side keeps on moving. Seat bottom cross frame was problem and upon tear down found cross frame had been separated at weld causing excessive flex in rear of seat. So bad driving it was a rocking chair. The entire seat frame w/motor assembly was replaced to correct defect. Well here is the rest ... Read More
Last week my 2006 Murano stopped in the middle of the road. I managed to push it off the road and get it towed to the dealer. But now the dealership it telling me that the oil in the CVT ... Read More
Fair point you are making. There is an online site that is monitoring repair frequencies year by year with Muranos ( I am part of the data pool for the 2010 Muranos). You can see a big difference between the 2007 and the 2006. 2006 was a particularly bad year apparently. 2005 was actually better. 2003 was a real mess. Anyway, my sense is that the 2010s have the CVT perfected ... Read More

Well, one would think so, right? However, I'm guessing this will depend on the dealership you are using. I've had FOUR alternators in my 2003 Murano and the dealership refused to cover #4 saying "it was out of the warranty period" - like having this many alternators replaced in such a short time was normal in any way! I recently traded my 2006 Murano SL-AWD for a 2009 model and was surprised to see that Nissan discontinued the adjustable pedals for that yearl. That was a great feature. I wonder if the 2010 models have adjustable pedals.

Hi Matt. Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.'s current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 39 month lease of a 2006 Nissan Murano SL AWD with 15,000 miles per year are .00039 and 50%, respectively. I believe that the truck that you described has a spread of around $3,200 between its full MSRP and dealer invoice price. You were quoted a discount of $2,859 on it, which is pretty ... Read More
Hi decentdeal. By looking at the MSRP that you posted, I take it that you are looking at a stripped 2WD 2006 Murano S. The selling price that you were quoted for this vehicle looks good to me. It appears to be right around or slightly below dealer invoice. Using the prices that you mentioned in your post, an MSRP of $28,485 and a cap cost of $26,475, and Nissan Motor ... Read More
If the rates are still in effect for November IMO you're better off leasing the 2006 Murano due to the lease support Nissan is providing. The 39 month lease money factor equates to an interest rate of 1.37 pct. Check Edmonds rebate section.
bot an '06 Murano w/tech pkg, + Sirius radio, premium pkg, and no destination chg in May from Garden City Nissan for $31,000. No hassle!

Decent deal. That is a base Murano, but its still alot of car for 329+tax. Check out the improvements Nissan made for 2006. Better interior, quieter cabin, improved suspension and 7" color monitor. Even mpg should be an improvement over the odyssey.

Well, Homeouner, your experience disappoints me. They had/have a stainless steel right and left tank shield, and I had one put on my 05 Murano on July 28, 2006 at Central Valley Nissan in Modesto, CA. I know you have seen my posts on this hang-down plastic junk shield before, but for others in the same situation, check out my two posts: #1425 and especially #1427 in which I give the ... Read More
By the way my friends, Murano have a very good competitor, The Mazda CX-7. The price is right to attract a lot of Murano buyers. I've seen it at the Nissan dealership and it looks pretty good in and out. Few friends say the same thing after they've seen it. Once Nissan realize that, they will surely give more incebtives for the Muranos. But CX-7 buyers will have to settle for ... Read More

turboz, my fellow Canadian. I got a 2004 Nissan Murano SL AWD and no sunroof. I paid $43,500 on the road. The 2006 price should not be to far from that. I bought it early 2004 brand new. Make sure that you ask for the price on the road to get your bottom line. This way, they can't do hocus pocus with you on all those other charges. By the way, ... Read More
Going to drive the SE model tonite. Kind of curious as to how the "tiptronic" shifter works with the CVT transmission.
I'm on my second MO.....average is 22 MPG, 16,000 miles per year, aproximately.
So far I'm very impressed with all aspects of the car. My last car was a 97 maxima and the build quality on the murano is pretty close IMO. Maybe "made in japan" has alot to do with it. I haven't tracked the mpg yet, I'd say 18-19 thats mostly stop and go around town.

If the Murano will accept regular fuel, that will be a big plus towards the actual purchase. After looking at all these SUV's, the Murano is still holding it's own for interior comfort, performance and utility. Going to look tonite at the Dodge Caliber, then the Lexus ES 300 models, and then possibly the TOY Rav for more comparison. Any idea on what your gas mileage is so far?
